Sajicek's TabColor and UpColor
TabColor
A simple plugin, that makes colored names in TAB. Sajicek's TabColor is permission based plugin. It means that you put permission in your permissions plugin(PEX,BukkitPermissions etc) and you will get (after reloading the permission plugin and reloadlist command) colored names in tab and above player head.
Instalation
- Download the plugin and stop your server.
- Put the file TabColor to plugins folder.
- Make groups.
- Make permissions.
- Start the server.
- Enjoy colored names :)
Commands
- /tabcolor reload - Reload the plugin
- /tabcolor reloadlists - Reload names in tab and name above players head
- /tabcolor help - Show the help
- /tabcolor version - Version of plugin
Permissions
- tabcolor.cmd.reload - Reload command
- tabcolor.cmd.help - Help command
- tabcolor.cmd.version - Version command
- tabcolor.cmd.listsreload - Reloadlists command
- tabcolor.showMessage - Show welcome message to player even if show is turned off in config file
Permissions about color was deleted - you can have them like a group.
Permissions for group is listed on groups page.
If you have a '*' permission in PEX you will get a color, what is defined in config
Config
OpTabColor: '&c' # A Ops tab color OpUpColor: '&c' # A Ops up color show: 'true' # If true then welcome message will show to everybody
About groups you can read on groups page.

Jblob - The same problem has a DrTURTLE2 with a GroupManager, try to result the problem like him (negative nodes).
Hey, This works for my lowest rank but now any of my others... maybe its because of the inheritance? i don't know... i really need help.
@bIablubbabc
Thats a nice idea.
BTW: @blablubbabc, I am using your paintball plugin :DD its nice And I've even put your name under the paintball sign tutorial
you should add it so you can change the color of your nametag(name over players head) as well!
Cool , appreciate that ;)
ooOJoeyBoyOoo - Good idea, it will be in next version. In config will be OpColor: red (you can change it to any color). Thanks for idea :)
Hello sajicek,
I really like your plugin because it has every color and it's the only one up to date ;p. I have a suggestion : It's kind of annoying that OP's color is alwqys red. If you could either remove that so you have to add it manually or you add something like OP Red Color: true/false, that would be really cool because I am using Dark Blue for the Owner ;). But dude, you did some good work with this plugin.
Thanks for reading
Arrxzon - Its because your (or player's) username is too long, I will try to fix it but i don't no what to do with name that is longer than 16 characters (as error in the console: Player list names can only be a maximum of 16 characters long)That player will not be able to have a colored names :(
A character name is exactly 16 characters long (A_BALD_WOOKEE360) but yet it says Player list names can only be a maximum of 16 characters long,
LHammonds - The same problem has a DrTURTLE2 with a GroupManager, try to result the problem lake him (negative nodes). Btw why do you adding a defaul group a perm for a white name, default is white so you don have to change it :)
I tried version 1.3 but still could not get past the white name. I tried bPermissions on a clean install and it worked. I then tried PEX on a clean install and it worked to. I then re-added all my plugins and it continued to work. When I re-added my old permission config file, it broke.
So I narrowed my problem down to a configuration issue. It turned out that the 1st group that loads the permission wins. I had the default group set to white which all other groups inherited but included their own color settings. When I removed the "White" permission node in the default group, it worked.
So basically, make sure the permission will only be included 1 time in your permission file or this plugin will use the 1st permission / color it comes across (which is often not what you would expect with inheritance).
Thanks,
LHammonds
LHammonds-Fixed in 1.2.1 :)
Thanks for creating and sharing this plugin.
I tried TabColor 1.2 but could not make it work, nor version 1.1. I was using CraftBukkit 1.6.4 initially but even downgraded to 1.6.2 for testing. I tried the permission "TabColor.Blue" in the permission group but after that did not work (tried reloading and re-logging), I then tried adding the permission node directly to my account. Reload command and re-logging did not work. Each time I made changes, the server was stopped so there would be no issues related to it being in a running state.
I checked the server.log file and each time I tested, it showed that the plugin loaded without errors and after issuing reload commands in-game, there were no server-side errors displayed.
However, my name never changed from a white color in the TAB list.
server.log (just entries related to TabColor)
I initially tried the Blue color but when I opened up the jar file and looked at plugin.yml, I noticed only the TabColor.Red permission listed in there, so I modified my test to use TabColor.Red as the permission node attached to my group...then after that did not work, I tried adding it directly to my userID.
permissions.yml (when I tried it attached to my group)
permissions.yml (when I tried it attached to my account)
Test Environment
Server: Windows 7 (64-bit)
Java: 1.7.0_25 (64-bit)
CraftBukkit: 1.6.4-R1.0 and 1.6.2-R1.0
Plugins: PermissionsEx 1.20.3, TabColor 1.2 (also tried 1.1)
ThisUsernameIsMine - I planing to do they will not must to relog, but for now they must relog to have a color in tablist :)
What happens with someone's colour if their rank is demoted/promoted:
Will it change the colour automatically or does the player have to relog?
Thanks ;)
A new version of TabColor is uploading and in this release will be a Itallic, Bold and Underlined names. Maybe it will be fixed a long name bug.
@sajicek
if you would give me the source i could fix it...
DrTURTLE2- i found it, if you have a group player and this group has a perm. TabColor.Gold(or any other color) and group vip that have inhitance: player, you must negate(http://wiki.ess3.net/wiki/Group_Manager#Negative_nodes) the color from player and then write TabColor.your color what you want :)
drturtle2 - I test it with Pex and its working, if you use GroupManager and don't work i will look on it and i will try to fix it :)
eprimex - Its because your (or player's) username is too long, I will try to fix it but i don't no what to do with name that is longer than 16 characters (as error in the console: Player list names can only be a maximum of 16 characters long)
It doesn't seem to be working if I use inheritence.
(Groupmanager.)
