What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?

It would be useful to be able to check a player's username when they connect to the server, and take action if it is inappropriate.
For example, I have had "Skull_Fucker", "JewIncinerator", "_somenigga", "shit_happens99", "I_Voted_4_Hitler", "SatanicNigger" all join my server.

Please provide any additional information below.

The options we have here are limited. What I'm thinking for this is a new PlayerLoginEvent handler that checks players names against a playername.txt rule file. The number of actions you will be able to take will be limited though. I think that the only reasonable things to do in login are to kick/ban the player, or use the "then replace" to change their displayname. Please note, though that changing the display name will not fully solve the problem, since there are places where the real player name are still used.

I will put this on my list of features to try to get into 3.4.0

Thanks. Being able to kick/ban will be fine. Even better, the ability to use "then command ..." so we can decide what action to take.

    Hi there.

Just wondering if this enhancement is likely to make it into the next major release? With the ability to change names now active via Mojang, we are getting a much higher incident rate of players joining with obviously offensive names.

    Many thanks.
