Promote!
Promote!
Introduction
What: Promote! is a simple rank-up plugin that allows players to use a single command - `/rankup` - to move up in the promotional ladder defined in the configuration. Simple and lightweight, this plugin does not contain any unnecessary tweaks or features. It is easy to set up and easy to use.
Why: There are quite a handful of promotion or rank-up plugins on the Bukkit Dev, however, most of them are either filled with bugs, are out of date, or littered with features that no one wants. Promote! was designed to be as sturdy as possible; you will likely never need to update it at all. It is simple as a brick; there is simply nothing there to break.
How: In order to provide compatibility with as many permissions and economy plugins as possible, Promote! depends on Vault, a framework that works extremely well with the majority of popular plugins. You can download the latest version of Vault here.

Configuration
Promote! does not have a whole lot in terms of configuration. The default configuration and explanation can be found here.
Commands
Promote! has a staggering total of one command.
/rankup will promote the user to the higher rank in the current promotion ladder. If the player is not in the ladder, is at the top of the ladder, does not have enough money, or does not have his pants pulled all the way up, the promotion will not occur.
/rankup [ladder] will promote the user to a higher rank in the specified ladder.
/rankup reload will load the configuration from file.
@bitWolfy
i was thinking for mainly prison servers so lets say they have poor conduct in ccblock you can do the command to rank them down to Dblock (it would be very useful for guards). and you could just have it as a setting like allow demotion and by default have it to false so it wont bother other peeps.
@P3RFORMANC3
I have no idea what you are talking about.
@jsgunman
You are welcome.
@shadowwrad
I could, but this is really not in the scope of the player. Promote is a plugin for players to promote themselves, not to demote themselves.
Feature request mainly for prison servers something like a demote? (if they misbehave something like /rankdown player)
Excellent Plugin, Thank you!
Can i get a new permissions.yml from someone i kinda broke mine and it wont let me delete PEX manually or over an FTP. Im too lazy to nuke the SSD.
@AlphaFarer
That is actually a bug, it seems. The language file should be copied over. Well, I should probably fix it.
@bitWolfy
I opened jar file with winrar and translated some words. That's how i found it. Could you make broadcaster like. User: nick rankuped to the B block. Gratz him ! when someone /rankups
@2234twotoo
Why, yes. All the ranks that you specify in the configuration file for this plugin have to be valid group names from your permissions plugin. The very first rank cam be your default group, for example, or it can be a group that you fill with players through other means.
@bitWolfy
Yes, I understand, but how would I put a player in a group? Would It have anything to do with my permissions plugin?
@godlessgreg
Can you rename the ladder `default` to something else? It should really not be causing issues, but who knows, maybe, that's where the problem lies.
I'll test the plugin locally with your configuration as soon as possible and reply with results.
@2234twotoo
Change their group to the one that is in a different promotional ladder?
The plugin does not store the player's ladder, instead, it determines the ladder by the group the player is currently in.
How would you move someone to a different promotional ladder?
I'm having problems using it to promote "default" group to "Member" group.
ladders:
- default
default:
- default,0
- Member,0
Error message is: [Promote] You are not in a promotional ladder!
(The spaces between lines of code aren't really there, but the comment was running them all together for some reason.)
@AlphaFarer
Derp. Sorry. I borrowed the command manager from my other plugin, forgot to change things.
How did you get this, though?
Fix this:
error: command: "Invalid command! Use &e/mine help for help."
@deathhzone
There are none. Op for /rankup reload.
If you do not want someone to promote themselves, you should not put them in a group that is in a promotional ladder.
What are the perms?
want this so bad
Awaiting the file, this will be perfect for my server! Thanks!
