What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set Plugin up
2. start server
3. Use console to enable maintenance mode
4. login

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

the server should give me my custom message yet it gives me the default one.

Do you have an error log of what happened?
it doesnt display a error

I have repeatedly stopped the server edited the file reuploaded it and restarted to find that the plugin is always overriding the config file with a new one.
