Infected
Features:
This plugin allows you to customize the mobs on your server and in your worlds like YOU want! You can add tons of things to their attacks and soon you'll can do even more. At the moment you have a decent choise of effects, which you can give to the mobs you want. You can also add multiple effects to a single mob if you want and you can also choose how often the effect should occure, be enabled and in which world. It is also possible to set a message when you got 'infected' and 'cured'. This plugin is lightweight, highly-configurable and upĀ²date.
Effect | Usage |

nausea | Visual effect (a bit like the portal ones) |
hunger | The player is hungry (decrease food-bar) |
slow | The player is slower (wow!) |
blind | The player can only see a few blocks far |
poison | The player becomes poisoned |
burn | The player burns! |
lifesteal | Giving the enemy health back |
critical hit | Dealing an amount of damage YOU want. |
damage | Deal additional damage |
reflect | Reflecting the damage to the player |

Installation
If you want to use a newer version than yours, please check the config-page for changes first! Place the Infected.jar in plugins folder. Now customize and configure the plugin! You can find a instruction how to edit the config.yml here! Please dont forget that :P

What might you think about expanding your plugin to other forms in infection? Maybe injuries too? Broken legs from falling, Sickness from cold and poor nutrition? HEAT STROKE! Hypothermia! Fatigue from moving to long too fast... just to name a few.... Think that you could classify sickness (effects / symptoms) into groups called diseases? Then apply those diseases to monsters or players for transmission? Monsters carry diseases which are configurable with symptoms. Injures are configurable with symptoms as well.
Hey. It would be nice, if you could add this one little thing: When somebody eat some rotten flesh, they can infected too

Doesn't look like the new version is taking the chance values. Everything seems to be 100% from what I can tell. Also, is there no messages in this version? What about the smoke?

Would it be possible for players to pass the infection? perhaps a chance to get the infection when attacked by an infected player.

same here can't get it to work the config stays but nothing happens.
Like many people have pointed out, since v.1.6.1 it does not work. No matter what you do to the configuration. Also i have a suspicion that /inv reload/load/save dont work as supposed.

This mod seems to crash the server randomly during combat.
I would like to see permission to prevent specific effects. I would then use mcMMO Level up mod to grant immunities to these effects as they became more powerful fights.
I like how you can use this to increase the threat of the different mods. Does the creeper explosion impart the effects?
I wish there was a way to tie these effect to worldguard regions/spawner/etc so you could set default then make special areas where they are even more challenging.
Great concept! Will be good fun for my players.

Work:
When I load the plugin for the first time, it gives me an empty config. I did this config based on the example you gave. This is the config (it is also deleted after the error shows up every time)
Used version 1.96b
