GuildEra
GuildEra
Features:
- Guilds that can be leveled: Every player can only use a limited amount of tools when he is in no guild(depends on the server settings). For example, without a guild you can use stone tools, stone blocks, wooden tools and weapons and wooden blocks. Within a guild he could use then a stone sword and a bow. if he levels the guild, he can later use iron tools and all the other stuff(like diamond armor or redstone).
- Developing a city: If build houses inside of your guild, villagers will come to your guild to live there. They will give you xp and maybe some bread.
- Hierarchical guild structure: Each guild has only one leader. The members are differentiated in trusted and normal members. Only trusted members can invite new players or kick players out of the guild.
- New dungeons with own loot: The dungeons can be spawned by admins. The loot of the dungeon is automically generated and depends on the length of the dungeon.
What is it about?
Its pretty simple. GuildEra implements guilds into Minecraft.
Every player is able to create a new guild or to join an existing one. The guilds can be leveled to get access to higher content, such as using enchantment tables or gold tools.
GuildEra implements also a new kind of dungeon that can be spawned by an admin. These dungeons are generated out of randomly chosen prefabs. Each dungeon will be different this way. At the end of the dungeon waits a treasure for the players who masters the dungeon. This treasure will be autmatically refilled every 24h.
Why should i want guilds?
Well, I often hear that the players want to stick together to a kingdom, a city or something similiar. With this plugin they can stick together to a guild. Each guild has a guildarea where only the guild can build and destroy something, with one exception. Other guilds will be able to attack your guilds with swords and bows.
So another guild can destroy my guild over night when I sleep?
No, they cant. A guild can only be attacked when a player of this guild is online. This way it is guaranted that there is someone who can defend the guild.
Whats the point in attacking other guilds?
I dont know. Whats the point into griefing? Correct, there isnt a point, but a lot of people do it.
So where can i get the plugin??

Grab the newest revision here:
Plugin: http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/build/
Are there any new features planned?
To be honest, there isnt planned anything special at the moment. I got several requests about an alliance-system. May I add something in that direction.
Where can i see which level my guild needs, to use a certain tool/block?
Look it up here: http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/requirements.txt
Well, you can tell me a lot, I want to see it!
As you wish:
How can I install it?
Download the newest revision of guildera.jar here: http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/build/
Put it into the plugin directory of your bukkit. Restart bukkit.
If you want to change the basic level of non-guild players(guilds start one level higher when they are founded), start bukkit with GuildEra once. Close bukkit now. There should be a new file in plugin/guildera/ called startLevel.cfg, open it. Change the numberic value to the basic level you want.
Current revision ist rev30!
How do I have to update GuildEra?
Just replace your old guildera_revXX.jar in the plugin folder with the newest one and restart bukkit.
How can I use Guildera now in the game?
Type .help or .commands in the chat to see your possible actions or look the chat commands here up:
http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/chat_commands.txt
Are there any permissions I have to give?
No there arent. The only thing to differt admins from non-admins is the OP-state of bukkit.
Can I modify on which worlds the plugin runs?
Yes. Start your server once and close it. There should be a world.cfg in the plugin/guildera. Open it. You can put the name of a world in each line. The first line marks the primary world. You can only build guilds and dungeons in the primary world. The restrictions coppled to the guild will affect every world you put in the world.cfg. You have to restart your server if you changed anything in the world.cfg.
Is there a config file?
Yes. Start bukkit once with the plugin and than close bukkit. There should now be a config.cfg file in your plugin/guildera directory. To have changes applied, you must restart your server after every change you made.

very nice, cannot wait for version 2 mixed with useful villagers. this will make an amazing addition to any roleplaying server.
@johnbanq
Probably not.
Edit:
Uploaded a new revision with a small fix for the chat commands.
may i ask....... any possible to add spout Features? spout = awesome
Well, I actually think that I wont add to this version new features, since the current structure of the guilds restricts me in the way I want to change the plugin. So I guess i will make version 2 of this plugin in the summer holidays (which will start in a few weeks). Untill than I wont add big new features, maybe one or two dungeons.
The money system would be such a big change, so I want to establish it in this version 2 that is planned. I also want to change the way guilds works(no more villagers but specialized guilds) and want to add citys to be something like a business partner to the guilds.
@Obstsalatt
Actually i search a plugin better than faction.. I hope you'll add more feature :D
And hope you'll make your plugin translatable :) !
I repost that : http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/rpg-guildawards-1-2-5.73132/ if you didn't see it
I would love an other "money" system there player can buy what they want ! :) So freaking awesome !
I dont know tekkit, but google tells me that it adds additional blocks/tools. So it would probably not work well with the guild thing(the tools and blocks of tekkit wont be affected by restrictions).
I dont know factions neither, so I cant tell how it works out with the guild part of GuildEra. But the dungeon part should work with both, tekkit and facions. So I strongly recommend to use only the dungeon part of my plugin, the rest wont work out well probably.
I'm running a Tekkit (Bukkit 1.1-4) server and have Factions on it. How well does Guild Era play with this version of Tekkit and Factions? I'm really interested in the towers, but also curious as to how the Guilds would work out. I might just leave them enabled if they play well together.
I will restructurize this page on bukkit the next days. I will add an explanation to the config than.
@poonjab1_0
I will try to add vault support, I think some time will pass untill the next update(maybe 1 or 2 weeks).
@all the people for crieing for the dungeon-standalone
Just set use_guilds to false and use_dungeons to true in the config. Than only the dungeons will be activated(would be the same as it would be if I made the dungeon standalone).
@the creator
I see not just me asking for JUST the dungeons.
A lot of people have different rpg setups and could only benefit from the dungeons.
@everyone else
How do the monsters in the tower spawn? If I add a few towers then remove the plugin would monsters still spawn?
Are you going to add vault support into this? and maybe change the commands a tad. I have downloaded it 4 times and implemented it onto my server but each time the dungeon never appears even when I reload the server. maybe make it like this: /guild create [name] /guild disband [name]. thank you.
I used all of your command references and .(Commandhere) just announces the command or says it versus executing it. How do I fix this?
Please give us a version with just the towers?
A nice plugin :)
How about a few more cfg options?
How much a guild expansion costs (in items or money) Item use level reqs configs
And also, a full cfg explanation, since without trying it out, its quite hard to figure out what some configs do :D
Also, having a hard time figuring out how the expansions work : /
And a harder suggestion:
Petition system, where you need to get x signs to create a guild (you need to get them from guild-less players) and after you create a guild, they automatically join it. (Something like WoW guild creation :D )
P.S. Maybe you could make the dungeon creator as a separate plugin, since I'd gladly use it as it is, but for GuildEra, I'd like to see a few changes before switching :)
Mh, never had the error with the plugin.yml. I dont know what you did but for me it works fine(using fresh 1.2.5-R1.3). Our server is running well as well. Also you are the only one right now who complains about these error, so I guess it an erro in your configuration.
The thing with the chat I will look up later. Its probably because I wrapped up the chat-hook.
@Obstsalatt
I tested rev29 using Craftbukkit 1.2.5-R1.3 and I got this error.
I tested rev29 with the CraftBukkit build you recommended (1.2.5-R1.0) and I got this error.
Other Problems I have found~ Note: These problems may only relate to me.
Okay, I uploaded rev29. Try it out please: http://minecraft-guildera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GuildEra/build/guildera_rev29.jar (Delete your config.cfg in the guildera folder or you will get an error that your config.cfg is outdated.)
@Obstsalatt
I haven't touched the plugin.yml. And I tried downloading the plugin again and it still did not work. I also went back to 1.2.5 R1.0 and I got this error. I'm pretty sure its the same error as last time.

Did you changed the plugin.yml? Download the plugin again and try it again, maybe it works than. If it does not work: Which bukkit version do you use? I still use 1.2.5 R1.0 for developing. Maybe its because of that, I will upload later this day a new revision which is compiled under the newest bukkit beta version.
@Shooty_ Looks nice, but I already thought about add guild specialisations. Currently I am planning on which specifications can be implemented, how usefull they are, how much fun they are and how they would fit into the game. May you know other plugins with similiar features where i can get some ideas from?
I keep getting this error...
