What is it?
The Database User Bridge, dubbed dBUB, is permissions bridging plugin that was designed to bridge permissions between an online database, and permissions on your minecraft server! Currently, it may only work with group manager, the in future releases will work with other popular permissions systems such as PermissionsEx, bPermissions, and permissionsBukkit.
What exactly does it do?
Based on your configuration settings, dBUB will try to synchronize user's groups from your database with your permissions system based on their group ID in the database (which you can map to any group you'd like in dBUB's configuration file!) when they log into your server!
Features:
- Support for (almost) any database user setup!
- Support for using different tables!
- Supports Database -> Server Synchronization!
- Supports Server -> Database Synchronization!
Future Features:
- Vault support (Permissions 3, bPermissions, PEX, GroupManager, PermissionsBukkit, zPermission)
- Support for ignoring certain users
- Database -> Server and vise versa Ban synchronization.
Automatically generated empty config fileDone!
Server -> Database synchronizationDone!
Forums Tested:
- vBulletin!
- SMF!
- PhpBB
- More to come as soon as I get feedback!

New update coming soon! :)
This update will add the following features:
@SamV522
Thank you very much :)
I think at the present moment PermissionsBukkit is the most popular one. Looking forward!
@AusTim
Honestly, I can't give you a straight answer to that at the moment because I'm pretty busy with some work at the moment, but I should have some time to look into adding support for some other permissions plugins either sometime this week, if not I should have a lot more spare time next week :) With any luck, it'll come with support for most of the active permissions systems as well :)
@pixelbat
So long as there is an entry for their minecraft username linked with their member profile on the forums you should be able to set it up, have a look at some of the example configurations for a bit of an idea to work it out, if you need some help, pop into the irc channel! :)
Hi! Plugin is awesome :) What date of PermissionsBukkit support implementation is planned?
Does the persons name have to be totally identical on the forums as it is ingame? Or is there a way for a person to sync by doing like /sync <forum name> <forum pass>? A lot of our players have different forum names, could see this being an issue.
This looks good, going to give it a try, just wish it worked with PEX :<
@Shooty, it's not designed for a particular board, you should be able to use it with any board, especially if people are signing up with their minecraft usernames. As for PEX, I still have to do quite a bit of work before that happens, but I'll definitely look into it for you :)
@SamV522
I really would like IP.Board & PEX support :) ?
@Iaccidentally that will be coming soon, in the next version if all goes well
Also, Version 1.1 is up, which fixes a small bug with reloading the plugin/server, and adds a command to manually sync the server! :D
Works fine with vBulletin. Might want to add the ability to automatically create configs, instead of having to manually create them.
@ViperZeroOne - It should support PHPBB by default, you just have to configure it! :)
Dam Sam, you are the shyt! Gonna implement this immediately. Thanks again!
Future suggestion, PHPBB database support.
@Albuca - any MySQL database that has a table with a group ID and a minecraft username :) so far tested with SMF, soon VirtualBulletin
@Tombikos - I will be looking into adding more permissions systems once I'm sure it's stable!
@Gabizou - No, not currently sorry :( it takes more fiddling with the database to get that to work.
What kind of databases will this be hooking into? Mybb - forum databases?
Add PEX please :)
Does this support for secondary groups? Like in PEX, I'd want my [Builder]s to also be able to be donors but still have builders permissions with donor perks. Or would I have to make a new group for each of those types of ways?
