This awesome plugin lets you travel to far away places and worlds faster than light! Just create a gate at any location and set an exit somewhere else.
This has been made available by the hard work of the research and development department of the Craft Inc. Corporation. Under the lead of Professor Ddidderr Craftman scientists worked years to find a way to bend time and space inside the Minecraft universe to enable ultra fast transportation.
Now it is time for you to try out this wonderful plugin. Simply install, create a gate and feel the funny tickle inside your brain while traveling.*
The key features of this are:
- Dynmap integration (Demo)
- Gates with and without frames
- Gates consisting of portal blocks and gates made of air (so called hidden gates)
- Gates with destinations in different worlds
- Gates with custom shapes (gates can look any way you want)

Who can destroy a gate?
Anyone if you do not use a third-party protection plugin like Grief Prevention.
Is there a IConnomy integration? Features for user to dial other gates etc?
Nope. We currently don't plan to integrate such features. If you really need such an integration please inform us. If there are a lot of people requesting such features we might change our mind.
Is there a list of all commands?
Sure, type /gate help in-game or have a look at the Commands page.
When I destroy the frame of a gate it stops working. Shouldn't it still work?
Yes and no. To make gates work without a frame you need to tweak the checkForBrokenGateFrames setting. Have a look at the Configuration page for more information.
Usage
With this plugin you can create gates which will teleport players anywhere you want. The gates can look any way you like.
To make the gate work place yourself inside a newly created gate frame and type /gate new [id]. Afterwards walk to the destination of your gate and type /gate exit [id] to set the destination. With /gate open [id] you can get your newly created gate to work.
To hide a gate simply call /gate hide [id]. Now that gate won’t be made of purple portal blocks while open.

Installing
- Download the latest release here
- Delete any old versions of Craft Inc. Gates (only the .jar files) including the extra dynmap-plugin of this plugin.
- Extract the content of the zip file into the plugins folder of your Bukkit server.
- Start or reload the server.

This project is a fork of the original Ancient Gates. It is licensed under the LGPL just like the Bukkit project. Thanks to all current and previous contributors. The font used for the Craft Inc. Gates logo is called MineCrafter 3 and has been made available under the creative commons license. Thanks to Asherz08, MadPixel and Ashley Denham for this great font. This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org: a unique identifier, the server's version of Java, whether the server is in offline or online mode, the plugin's version, the server's version, the OS version/name and architecture, the core count for the CPU, the number of players online, the Metrics version. You can disable the stat collection via /plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml if you wish.
It's been a while since the last version of this plugin got released. Sorry for the long delay guys.
The work on the next version is almost finished! (Still a lot of testing to do.)
There also will be a 1.7.x compatible version as soon as a craftbukkit release exists.

Sorry for my late response.
Changing blocks will be possible with version 2.3. Portals across servers are currently not planned. You're the first one asking!
Things that Craft Inc. Gates might make unique are hidden gates, frameless gates and the fact that this plugin actually won't change any blocks on the server. This was a new feature with the 2.2 release. All the portal blocks are only visible to players and only exists on client side. This protects gates build with this plugin to never interfere with nether portals. We also put a lot of work into this plugin making it very CPU efficient and keeping it simple on the user and code side as well.

So tomco, you cant change gate blocks, so what makes this different from all of the better ones out there?
Does this go across Servers or just worlds on the same server, I'm surprised that Professor Ddidderr Craftman scientists worked years to be way behind from other plugins LOL.

You shoudl make a video tutorial that is always cool even if it isn't hard to install or use

Please make sure you are really running the latest version of this plugin. The plugin prints out it's version to the server log when modifying a gate. Also make sure to delete any old versions of the plugin. I know that we fixed that bug a while back! With version 2.2.1 it should definitely work.
BTW: when we execute /gate new asdf the location for the gates gets automatically set to your current location. So there is no need to call /gate lo asdf afterwards.
EDIT: In case you are running the latest release: please supply the full log message with the error (also include a few lines before and after the exception).
How come I cant warp fom one world to another with gates. I put gates at my spawn /gate new (gate) /gate lo (gate) than go to the dest and do /gate exit (gate)
than type /gate open (gate) and i get a return error Cannon Measure distance between _ and _
I stand in the gate, and it does nothing. So far gates only work for same world Teleportation, not custom multi worlds

Version 2.2.1 is out and waiting for review. Meanwhile you can find the jar file at our GitHub page. We implemented a workaround that should solve your problems even though we think it's actually a WorldGuard bug.

Currently you cannot change the gate blocks. But it's on my list. Expect it in version 2.3.
This is really cool! Had no bugs. Question - can you change the purple thing (its on the nether portal, makes you teleport?) to something else like let's say, water?

No, it is protected by worldguard, but that split second when they break it and it regenerates the block, the portal closes.

That's not a bug. :) This plugin doesn't and probably won't ever prevent players from destroying gate frames.
I see two ways that might solve your problem. Either turn of checks for broken gates frames. Gates will than work without a frame. Or (like we do on our server) use some other plugin like GriefPrevention to prevent players from destroying blocks in certain areas.

Yes, i am using the correct beta 2 build. And it is happening. I wasn't able to check the console because while this happend, i was either somewhere else or offline. Don't want to be watching the gate until it closes =P Could you please post the link for the 2.2 final so i can test it? Or pm me it
Edit: I think i found the issue to it, when a normal player without permission breaks the frame blocks, the portal closes thust having us to re-open it, and i think thats the bug that was happening that closes the portals.

Are all gates getting closed? This was a bug in 2.2.0 beta 1 we hopefully fixed in beta 2. Make sure you are running the beta 2 or the final 2.2 which is already uploaded and waiting for review.
Also have a look at the server log. There should be entries like »Gate got closed. …« with a reason why the gate got closed.
