ColoredTexts
Hello Minecrafters! This is my second plugin on Bukkit and it allows for colored groups in chat and in tab, colored chat, and colored signs!
To use colored text, simply use "&" and then a color code. The color codes available in Minecraft are
The following codes are also available for effects:
Code Common Name
&k Magic
&l Bold
&m Strikethrough
&n Underlined
&o Italics
&r Reset
Each of these can be enabled or disabled by giving or taking any of the coloredTexts.colors or coloredTexts.effects permissions. A player can see the color and effects available to them by using the /showcolors command. Each of these permissions also allows a player to use those colors and effects on signs as well, if it is enabled in the config.
A player can set their default chat color using the /setcolor command and then a letter or number of the color codes (basically, the color code without the & symbol). A player can also use a word instead of the letter or number. For exmaple "/setcolor red" will set my color to red(c). To set the color to one of the dark colors, simply use "/setcolor darkred" or "/setcolor dark_red". The syntax for the command is /setcolor <color code>.
Groups can be assigned colors, as well, by giving them one of the coloredTexts.groups permissions. It is important to only give each group one of these permissions. This color will show up in both when the player talks in chat as well as in the tab menu, if both sections are enabled. Both chat and tab menus will also show the player's nicknames, if they have one. These group colors will also be used in the joining and leaving messages, if they are enabled.
The plugin is fully customizable, and all or some of its features can be disabled. Each feature of the plugin has a enable or disable area located in the config file.

This plugin was made originally for http:olympus-gaming.net/ (Server IP: minecraft.tk).
Please Note: This plugin will require a permissions plugin to be used effectively.

I want to make a command block use colored texts, how can i do this?
So does this plugin change the color of the chat or just the name?
Great Plugin but when I execute /setcolor [color] the first symbol of my prefix changes color.
Can someone help me please?
I want to use the Custom Join Message but when I use it, I don't know the code to use for a player name, so that it says "Playername has joined". Can someone please tell me what I need to type for it to get {Playername}?
Thanks
enabling names and chat to be colored solves the error. do it means we cant disable those?
Great plugin! Everything is working, I have factions and some colored nicknames. Bue what could it be:
@HeroLief
Yes, I did. I was referring to "does the player have to use /setcolor to set their default color or can it be forced on them depending on group" when I said that an entire group cannot have their chat color set at once, which is different from the color their name will be in chat. Thank you for allowing me to explain that.
@Gameguykiler
Currently, an entire permissions group cannot simultaneously have their chat color set
Do you mean via commands? Because I thought that's what coloredTexts.groups.color is for.
@brinaq
Yes, you can force a chat color on someone. If you set their chat color to be blue using /setcolor jakal201 blue, jakal201 will not need to have coloredTexts.colors.blue. If you want jakal201 to be able to set their own color, they will need coloredTexts.colors.<the color they want>, coloredTexts.setcolor.set, and coloredTexts.chat.color. Currently, an entire permissions group cannot simultaneously have their chat color set, only player by player. I don't think I would add a feature like that either.
Can I force a chat color on a player? for example if I want player "jakal201" to have the color blue (&b) for their chat can I just set a permissions in their group like colortexts.colors.&b??? Or there's only permissions for all the colors and all the effects? and does the player have to use /setcolor to set their default color or can it be forced on them depending on group? thanks a lot :)
@FranciscoZattoni
I'm not quite sure what you mean by that...
The Essentials interference in giving this plugin! Please arrange this
@Ranetha
I'm glad that you enjoy the plugin :D

Everything is done through permissions and the config file, which is created when the plugin is first started. You can see the values of everything in the config here. You will need to give yourself permissions for every command and ability for the plugin to take effect. You can accomplish this by using the permission commands that should be in your permissions plugin (which is required to use the plugin).
@lst96
I haven't tested the plugin with essentials, so it may interfere :/
i just downloaded it but it says You dont have permission for that command. How do i turn myself to an admin so i can use it. It would be nice if you could say what file to go into and what to change ect.
i have essentials and i can't get it to change the color for groups.
works brilliantly in 1.4. It overrides PEX colours by default, but as you say in your description, everything can be switched off. And it's great having the ability to fine-tune the colours available to people. Well done. I've tried three different colour plugins recently, so I'm sticking with this one.
@scgamer_99
Again, sorry for the slow response. Could you give a paste of the error? Also could you give a paste of your config?
@THEPIEBRO
Did you give yourself the permissions for the commands?
@killertudse
Sorry for the slow response time, I lost power from Sandy for a while there. I'll be putting out an update whenever the next recommended build is put out, but the plugin should function perfectly even without an update with each new Bukkit version.
Update?
