Commands & Permissions
/xVote startvote (name) (text) - Create a new poll/xVote peek - Peek at results so far
/xVote endvote - End the current vote
/xVote vote (vote) - Submit a vote
Permissions:
xvote.player - Every command a normal player needs
xvote.admin - Every command an admin needs
All permissions are otherwise OP-default

Polls last as long as you want. The server can restart 1,000 times - but if nobody has done "/xvote endvote" yet, the poll will still be active.
Again, players can vote as long as a poll is active. So yes it will still be valid :)

Posted May 23, 2013If a poll is still going on and some players are logging in after the poll was started, will they still be able to vote? Also if I keep the poll up for a week, will it still be valid to vote? or will the poll close if the server closes/restarts?

Yes then its probably lag. If the message bothers you, you can install the plugin CommandSigns and turn off the xVote message. Then, using CS, you can make voting booths (sign A votes for this person, sign B for another, etc.). But I can try to make it less prone to spam on lagging servers... well see ;)

The multiple messages on login is probably due to server lag. The plugin doesnt do that on my server :/. And (on my server again) I can make / end votes without any old ones coming back. Not too sure whats causing that. It shouldnt happen :/. Try deleting the config and relaunching the server.

Posted Apr 22, 2013I see you made the login message toggleable, but could you still add a permission for seeing it? I want to have half my server population able to vote, and half unable to. It would be nice if I could turn off that message for the latter half.

Example Vote1 shows up once After i end vote one and create vote 2 when people login Vote 2 is listed twice. if i end it and create vote3 when people login vote3 is listed 3 times

I can add a way to toggle the message :). Maybe a command will do that. As for your other question (and @Marium0505 's) im not sure how that would work (multiple votes at once). I can look into it but no guarantees :)
Finally the expire time, a possibility but again ill see what I can do. Thanks for your feedback :)

I would love to see a couple of things.
1. Option to turn off login message.
I have a Voting Booth with Commandsigns.
I would prefer not to clutter the login.
2. Multiple Votes...at the same time
3. Expire Time could be useful.

Ive heard good and bad things about serversigns. My server uses CommandSigns, and it lets you run a command as an OP. But theres nothing blocking serversigns in xVote, so i wonder thats going on :/

So many servers use voting plugins (votifier related) that use the command /vote, I like ./xvote way better, as before there were many plugin conflicts.

That sounds awesome, and I am willing to wait any amount of time, no rush. I think there is something wrong with the permissions, I made it so players couldn't use the commands, but then the sign set up I have (serversigns) allows them to temporarily use the command and permission node, but this is the only plugin that doesn't seem to allow it.

the command was /vote in versions 2.0.1 and lower, but the /xvote command is new. I like it better because theyre grouped together (the xvote commands) instead of being all over the place. and marium, the ip will be next to the playername when you end the vote or peek. It wont get in the way [hopefully]
