well-auction
Yet a simple but powerful way to set the economic equilibrium in your bukkit server: competitive auction houses.
Core features
- Create Well-Auction shops, from any block, sign, item frame, and more to come.
- Shops can handle any kind and number of items (limited to double chest inventory size).
- Allow players to put on sale items from their inventory to these shops.
- Check, buy and sell items visually, with inventory-like window.
- Seller notification on each sale.
- Localizable Don't hesitate to send here your translated configuration file in your language!
- DB storage from your bukkit server's configuration.
- Easy and fast setup thanks to ready-to-use shop presets.
Fast and secure
- Well-Auction is Performance and Transaction oriented, because a performance-consuming plugin or an economy plugin with item duplication flaws is not meant to be really used.
- No fictive item manipulation by the player. As soon as the player has on his cursor an item that he doesn't really own, that means that would be a security breach for item duplication.
- The same actual Auction House will actually be shared across all shop instances of the sale, because at first it protects your players from losing items they put on sale.
For players
- Right click an Auction House: an inventory of item categories appears.
- Left clicking a category opens the associated "Buy" inventory.
- Right-clicking a category opens the associated "Sell" inventory.
- Shift-clicking a category lets the user define a price per unit of the item.
- In "Sell" inventory, user can sell 1, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 units of the selected item. A sale can be taken back by right-clicking it.
- In "Buy" inventory, only best sales by stack size are shown. This is the core of the competitivity system!
For server owners
How to
- Look at the desired block to be an Auction House, then load a shop here by typing
/wauc preset <preset_name>
- That's all! Just repeat the operation for all the shops you want to setup.
- You can change the language in
well-auction.yml
, key:language
. This will look for a the file named<language>.yml
in lang subfolder.

Installation note
This plugin depends on well-core (click here), please get its last version or well-auction won't work.
Usage
Commands
`/wauc preset` | to attach a preset of items to an Auction House. Presets are configured in presets.yml |
`/wauc remove` | remove an auction house from the block you're looking at. |
`/wauc attach` | create or update an auction house by adding the type of item you're holding in your hand on sale. Creates the shop inside the block you're looking at (right-click to open). |
`/wauc detach` | update an auction house by detaching the type of item you're holding in your hand from sales. A shop without sales is removed. |
`/wauc reload` | reloads the plugin. This may be useful in case on economy plugin dependency conflict which would break setup of the plugin. |
`/wauc list` | lists the auction houses that exist. |
Permissions
`well.auction` | execute `/wellauction` (or `/wauc`) commands |
`well.auction.open` | open auction houses |
`well.auction.buy` | buy items |
`well.auction.sell` | sell items |
Will this be updated to 1.8.x/1.8.8?
@rnoa
Hi, you seem to have set too many shops in the same place, thus opening the menu crashes. I'm going to reinforce this behavior. At the moment you can remove all shops from a (buggy) place with /wauc remove and remember to only use /wauc preset <preset> once on a block.
On the other hand: please PM me the error about presets on server startup, thanks for the feedback!
Would you please look into this error? http://pastebin.com/WrixJep9 This plugin is what I need for my server! Also, at startup it says "couldn't load preset.yml because it already exists".. Running on the latest patch of Spigot. Thanks! :)
@holigan25
Did you type the value without any sombol? If you want to sell something at $5000 just type 5000. Otherwise please PM me any error in your server logs or full logs if you don't mind sending them to me.
Thanks for your feedback!
I have installed it on my server! but everytime i want to sell something it say invalid price? i dont know what to do? please help me!
I hope we get an update soon! This is one of the best plugins on bukkit! Thank you for your hard work!
@ShadowedDreamer
Hi, thanks for your feedback! I'll include a simple how-to in the docs in order to make it straightforward and do some cleanup in the description too.
Yes, don't hesitate to send me your tutorial video :) if it's concize enough (like not more than 1 minute) and that explanations are easy to read/hear, I'll link your video in this page with pleasure, thanks!
Here is a suggestion:
Better How-To guide. It is slightly confusing as is.
I am downloading it now and will try to make a how-to video for my server if i can understand it myself. If you would like, i can forward you the link to the video?
Hi there!
Just to mention I'll be on vacations, and only be back on July 27. If you have questions or suggestions, please either leave a comment or send me a private message.
Have fun with Auction Houses!
@madtomic
Not intended to be, but might be compatible. Please try (on a test server for sure) and give us feedback ;)
@LordKainzo
Items with custom names should work, only if you setup an auction shop on that renamed kind of items.
On items with enchants or specific lore, not yet, but they will be supported later (that's one of the reasons why this plugin is still a beta)
Does this allow items with custom name/lore and NBT tags?
@madtomic
Most plugins are not backwards compatible, though this one may be? Doubtful. So much code has changed between 1.7.9 and 1.7.2 I would not be surprised if it hardly even recognized on server start up.
Can I use this with CB.7.2-r0.3?
@konradmm
Hi konradmm, economy in Minecraft isn't really by business here, but I only intend to use it in order to bring relationship between players to the next level. For specific economy manipulations, please refer to Vault's capabilities, and to economy plugins that are compatible with it.
@ChrisMintjes
Hi ChrisMintjes, please note that Auction Houses NPCs will be released soon ;)
But for a correct answer to your question: this is a great idea! I'll think about a command to open Auction Houses from item in hand or item codes.
@konradmm
There are economy plugins out there that allow you to set items as the form of currency, I would consider getting one of those if you really wish to use a plugin like this.
hi made, i would like not to use Economy plugin like /money and so... is it possible to set "currency" to diamond with ur plugin? For example any price will be set to amount of diamonds (which user can spend from his inventory). If not, i would consider adding it ;)
Could you also make it possible to get the shops opened by a command?
I personally will be helped since the mod CustomNPC's can let my players do commands. That way they can walk over to a npc and talk with them. And possibly enter the shop by letting them use a command. (no need to get into that mod)
You could also add a line to disable this.
@blint66
Oh no worries, I was just checking in. I can't wait to use this! This has been something I have been looking for, for a very long time.
Excuse my excitement. :P
@sakura_blades
Hello sakura_blades,
This is incoming in next version. I still tagged this plugin as beta because everything is not implemented yet. Please let me polish the config system, then I'll release the 0.4 which will hold multiple items, and even presets for a blazing fast setup!
Just hold on ;)
