WeegeeCensor

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of Minecraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

WeegeeCensorPlugin

logo A bukkit plugin to keep your players young and innocent.

WeegeeCensor

Project has been suspended until further notice.

WeegeeCensor is a plugin that censors "bad language" in chat.

The latest documented version is v1.1.0.5. (major.minor.version.change) Version 1.1.0.5 currently has been tested and works with MC1.8.8 (despite what the file may say.)

Changelog

You can always download the latest version here by clicking View Raw, however, it may not be stable. Bleeding-edge builds have also not been approved by the Bukkit.Dev staff, so use them at your own risk. (They're artifacts from the last build I performed on the codebase, so they should be safe as far as I'm concerned.)

v1.1.0.5 - Added new command alias. /wc - Added new help command. /wc help - Added new check command. /wc player <> check - Other minor fixes.

v1.0.3.8 - Fixed filesystems (no more errors at startup.) - Improved reliability and several other fixes.

v1.0.2.4 - Initial release.

Features

  • Censors bad language in chat.
  • Keeps a tally of how many bad words a player has used.
  • Keeps a log of the context the bad words were used in.

Commands

/wcensor add (word) - Add a word to the list of censored words.

/wcensor remove (word) - Remove a word from the list of censored words.

/wcensor list - List the words that are not allowed.

/wcensor player (player) reset - Reset a player's swear tally to 0.

As of version 1.1.0.5:

/wcensor player (player) check - Check a player's swear tally.

The swear tally goes up by one for each unique swear word in a message. For example, if a player says "banana banana banana," banana will only be counted once, thus, the player's swear tally will only increment by 1, not 3. However, if a player says "banana apple orange," the tally will be incremented by 3.

/wcensor help (topic) - Show the help documentation.

If you leave out the topic, it will show you a list of possible topics.

Permissions

  • None.

In order to use the plugin's commands, you must be an operator (or you can run them from the console.)

A fast and reliable plugin.

Are you tired of plugins adding unnecessary features? Well, this plugin is for you. It contains no unnecessary features. I strive for speed because I use this plugin on my Raspberry Pi 2 Minecraft server.

Please submit any issues you might find with the plugin at the Github repository. You can see the issues here.

Some things I take pride in:

  • No import all statements.

Importing all classes can be a real drag- literally. It consumes unnecessary memory.

  • No secret functions for the creator.

If I want silly things, I can make a silly plugin.

My Inspiration

MelooonCensor was one of my favorite censor plugins, so I took a lot of inspiration from it. It's a shame it hasn't been updated.
