Towerbuild to Babel

Build yourself up to the gods - Towerbuild to Babel Plugin allows you to experience minecraft new. You fight against another team and the goal is to reach the plattform with a sand tower faster than your opponent. But be careful! There are different classes that want to prevent that.

Features

Scoreboard with the classes and the tower height

- Mercenary - The Warrior with a Bow and a Sword has to protect the own base and the players of the own team.
- Saboteur - The Destroyer has to attack the tower of the opposite team.
- Builder - The Tower Builder has to collect sand and build a sand tower to the plattform.

Requirements

Download the offical Towerbuild to Babel map here: Map
You need 10 Players or more (5 in each team)

Installation

Extract the BabelPlugin.zip into the directory plugins and edit the config.yml if you use not the same map as linked in Requirements.

Commands

/startgame - Allows you to split the joined players into 2 teams and start the event.
/endgame - Allows you to end the event and spawn all players in the lobby.

Metrics

This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:

A unique identifier
The server's version of Java
Whether the server is in offline or online mode
The plugin's version
The server's version
The OS version/name and architecture
The core count for the CPU
The number of players online
The Metrics version If you wish to disable this feature, you can do so by opt-ing out, which you can do in the config file under (Server_Folder)/plugins/PluginMetrics/

Auto-updater

This plugin has a built-in auto-updater, which connects to BukkitDev to check for updates. If you, for some reason, wish to disable this process, you can do so by setting 'CheckForUpdates' to false in the config.yml file.

Hi, the plugin is compatible with multiple worlds but you can run my plugin just on 1 world.

another thing just unearthed. After exiting the game, enforced sand stacks of 20 persist. A relog fixes it.

3) The spawn issue was just the HomeSpawnPlus plugin overtaking this plugins death spawning. For anyone else having the same issue, adding this to the HomeSpawnPlus config did the trick:

Saboteur issue was only that we blocked TNT perms for lower classes. Not an issue with this plugin.

Map resetting, will you be incorporating it properly (or is it just not working for us) - or shall we fix a workaround ourselves?

Hi thunder. I know! that's why I'm reporting them. To help you :)

Also some other bugs from our attempt tonight, though this might be our server setup, I haven't looked in to it, but certainly something other servers would want to know about

a) Sabatouer build perms, I didn't install the plugin , so I'm not sure what the config is. however, need to remember to check worldguard/MV setup, but thought to mention it here. Likewise chest access. Again, I mention it here as something for other users to confirm/watch out for, rather than a bug.

b) Scoreboards are derpy. They show scores and then switch to zero without interference from players? I think the issue is that it doesn't reset on /endgame. It seems to go back to start ok when new items are added

c) Scoreboard doesn't count the team numbers accurately.

d) Towers don't reset between matches?

e) floating sand, not obeying MC gravity rules

f) Indiscriminate PvP? Sometimes builders can PvP other players? not sure when, or how.

We really like the potential of this plugin, so happy to help continue test on our server. Let us know if there's anything you'd like us to try!

Server owner has this installed on damnation.eu. If you want to help test on our server, you'll have to be 18+ year old (excluding plugin-dev ofc if that's the case here :)), and follow instructions at www.damnation.eu/join.

it's only a test though - so admins have to be available to TP you the world and start the game.

Some feedback so far:

1) It's not obvious what's going on! Some starter signs explaining the game would be nice (though I'm sure we could add them ourselves)

2) the scoreboard keeps up even after the game has ended. Relog clears it.

3) When you die you go back to the lobby world, rather than spawn? Hardcore?

4) We could pick stuff up reliably. Sand was stacking in 16. I got to 20 sand and it stopped picking up. Other players (inc a builder class) couldn't pick up at all.

5) Killed a player, and couldn't loot his stuff. Is that intentional?

all the above could be server-specific rather than plugin, but we're happy to help test and feedback.

Hello, I don´t know if you people are from Germany so I write in English :D I am a big fan of this plugin and I would ask you from where you get this plugin (LPTLive?) or created it yourself? (sorry for my bad english) At my server this plugin doesnt work. Could you help my? Skype or something else? Deutsch? :D

Am besten lädst du die Template Map hier herunter. Einfach alles was es da gibt stehen lassen und den Rest kannst du so bauen wie du willst ;) Das einzige Problem ist, dass der Spawnpunkt der Teams im Moment fix ist. Ich werde aber bald ein Update bringen, wo man mit einem config.file die Koordinaten einstellen kann. Ausserdem brauchst du beim Teamspawn drei Schilder in der ersten Zeile [Mercenary], [Builder] und [Saboteur]. Und in der Lobby ein Schild mit [Join]. Das wäre alles :)
