What it does

TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.

As a player, you can:

  • Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
  • Time travel to a random location.
  • Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
  • Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
  • Take companions with you when you time travel.
  • Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
  • Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
  • Grow new TARDIS rooms
  • Use Artron Energy
  • Remote control the TARDIS
  • Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
  • Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack - requires MCPatcher with CTM and CIT

Change log here

As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: http://eccentricdevotion.github.io/TARDIS/installation.html

Optional installs

These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...

  • Install the TARDIS Resource Pack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
  • Install the TARDIS Resource Pack in the Minecraft client to see custom TARDIS textures
  • Install Multiverse-Core so you have multiple worlds to travel to. This is also required if you want to generate TARDISes in their own self-conatined world, and grow rooms.
  • Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-conatined world (included in the ZIP download).
  • Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
  • Install WorldBorder to restrict the size of the worlds generated for TARDIS occupation ( or just use the vanilla Minecraft World Border feature).
  • Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
  • Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.
  • Install ProtocolLib so that the TARDIS Zero Room is completely detached from the universe and the TARDIS Keyboard is editable by clicking it
  • Install LibsDisguises so that you can use the Genetic Manipulator / Immortality Gate

Bugs / Requests

Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)

WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!

Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).

If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:

  1. Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the /tardis version command
  2. Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the /tardis version command
  3. The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
  4. If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
  5. Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
  6. Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file
  7. List of other plugins on server
  8. And read this: How to file bugs

Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml

External web access

Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay command) that connects to Microsoft's translation service. The URLs it connects to are:

You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate

    Hello again, using 2.5-beta-2:

Adding horses to the Tardis doesn't seem to work properly. When a horse is standing close to the door and I enter, the horse disappears, but it doesn't appear in the stable room or anywhere else. The lead disappears as well. Also, horses don't seem to appear on the scanner. The other thing is that animals don't seem to breed inside the Tardis. They go into love mode, they kiss, experience is given (I think) but no babies. I've also noticed that redstone circuitry inside the Tardis stops working when I leave the Tardis, and when I come back I need to turn it off and on again to make it work. It didn't used to be that way. Hope this info helps.

Oh yeah..if there is an exploit someone will find it, luckily a couple of very honest players let me know. Just have to fix a couple of things I overlooked in the protections stones plugin to stop some more exploits going on.

    ALL Server OPS

If you don't want players harvesting the sponge when the lights are off, add the following to /plugins/WorldGuard/worlds/TARDIS_Vortex/blacklist.txt

@eccentricnz I have an automated system: One lever powers a system that creates an on-off current (using a sticky piston and a large row of repeaters to prolong the phases. I then convert each change of state to a single impulse (another sticky piston plus 1 or 2 repeaters), which is then prolonged to desired length (using a repeater, 3-click setting) and carried to power pistons that constantly push in places where pumpkins spawn. These then fall into a row of hoppers and get carried into the condenser. I have a nice system with a row on each side of the hoppers. I can fit two and two pumpkins on the left and two on the right into one empty Tardis room. I do need to make the ceiling a little higher, but otherwise it fits in. It's a modular design, so if I need more power, I can add a room and make the rows longer. I still need to crank up the motor to make it work (ie. open & close the condenser.) Now, I just switched the condenser for an ordinary chest and transfer it manually, not a big deal. But if the condenser could work with hoppers in the future, that would be great.

I guess I'm still a Minecraft noob as I would never have thought of using a hopper with the Artron Condenser... Just as well I have the community to keep me on the right track :)

Hi again, The previous issue resolved itself when I deleted everything and installed all the plugins again - it was probably caused by some old config/incompatible timey-wimey, you know what I mean.

Anyway, there is another issue: (still using 2.4) I've noticed that the artron converter now cannot be filled using a hopper. The items disappear temporarily, but they drop when the chest is destroyed. However, they do not appear in the condenser, and they don't get condensed, which in turn makes my amazing pumpkin motor obsolete. My guess is that it would be something to do with the condenser now having a name? Are you planning to make it compatible with hoppers again in the future? Thanks in advance for your answer. You're great. This is such an amazing plugin.

You have obviously never clicked through to the official documentation, which is hosted on GitHub, or perused the other important pages section on this page...

    1. load schematic
    2. paste schematic
    3. edit blocks
    4. select WorldEdit region
    5. copy blocks
    6. save schematic
