About SketchMap
SketchMap is a plugin designed to allow players to put images from the web onto a single or array of maps. These maps can be added to ItemFrames to complete the image and create awesome visual displays in vanilla minecraft.
Compatability
SketchMap is currently built using Spigot 1.8 but should run perfectly fine on all current 1.8 versions of Bukkit. Now runs on Java 7!

Guides
Creating a new SketchMap via URL
- Upload your desired image using a online tool like Imgur and copy the image URL.
- Now use the command "/sketchmap create <map-name> <URL> [Resize-X]:[Resize-Y]" Use Ctrl+V to paste an Image URL
- All done! SketchMap will split your image into 128x128 pixel chunks! You can place this image directly on a wall you are looking at using "/sketchmap place <map-ID>" or you can use "/sketchmap get <map-ID>" to get your map as individual maps.

- /sketchmap create <MAP-ID> <FILENAME.ext> [RESIZE-X]:[RESIZE-Y] - Creates a new SketchMap using a file in the SketchMap plugin directory
- /sketchmap get <MAP-ID> - Get a loaded map as Map Items
- /sketchmap place <MAP-ID> - Place a Map directly on the block you are looking at
- /sketchmap delete <MAP-ID> - Delete a loaded map
- /sketchmap list - List all current SketchMaps
- /sketchmap help - Display Plugin Information

Posted Jul 26, 2015Ok, upon further testing I've found that the the problem lies in saving the encoding to the map-image field in the .sketchmap file. With JPG files the map-image is not saved (although you're able to place the image when you first import it).
Also, it only happens with JPG files. PNG files work fine.
So I have a workaround that's not too bad (use PNG files only).
But this is the best image map plugin out there, it would be great to see it updated.

But I'm having a problem similar to Ceress: my maps vanish after a server restart.
I import a map from the plugin directory (or create from URL, same result); It creates a 'file.sketchmap' in the sketchmaps directory (but it's only 110 bytes); I place the map, it looks fine; I restart the server, the map frames are still in place, the image is gone; /sketchmaps list no longer shows the map I imported.
I'm running Spigot (or Bukkit) 1.87.

Posted Jul 15, 2015Recently noticed, I'm having placed tiles vanish seemingly at random, and have to re-place them. I've scoured my logs over the past couple of days, and haven't seen any errors at all. Any ideas?

Posted Jul 8, 2015Excellent plug-in! Very polished! Here's what I just did with it: Hobbit Portraits on a Mantelpiece
Just a note: your plug-in has a dependency on the Vault plug-in. Without Vault installed, SketchMap refuses to start.
That is a bit annoying. I'm running a very small server for 2-3 players and I didn't need Vault in the first place. Could you make it so that SketchMap can still run without Vault installed?
Anyway, great job. Just made a small donation, because I think you deserve it.

Posted May 21, 2015Yeah I later talked to the owner and it was because people kept trying to make 100x100 maps so he will go through the maps that are useless and toss them out. I also always set the maps to a certain size since it would be hard to fit a 20x10 map on a 3x2 tv, lol.

Interesting... I know of a rival plugin which has this problem but never seen SketchMap do it? Have you tried setting the X:Z pane span manually?
E.G /sketchmap create testMap URL 4(width) 10(height)
Also this may be because you have gone past the limit of around 50,000 maps (Minecraft Using Short ID's Bug). An old bug in SketchMap actually used to generate a new map every time the server restarted. Since then this has been fixed but the effect of this bug could be causing it. If the fix above does not work go to your main world folder then open the data folder. In this folder there will be files called map_"NUMBER". If there are over 50,000 of these map files, deleting them should fix the problem. This will reset all map (The Item) based data. Meaning any maps currently existing in the world may be reset.

Posted May 20, 2015So for the second time this month (maybe two months) a server I play on (the one trainphreak is on) has been having a bug where you can make a picture of any size but it'll only show one of the maps for all of the maps.

Posted May 20, 2015It would be nice if there was a config option to limit the size (in item frames) that a sketchmap can be. Seems like every week, somebody new to Sketchmap crashes the server I'm on by making a Sketchmap that's 100x100 or bigger.

Posted May 11, 2015I have lost all my sketchmaps. All pictures are just plane maps now.....It´s on me, I made a risky move, trying to fix mobspawning in a multiverse-world (a different story). I had to change the default world for a while and I guess it broke sketchmap-links somehow.
I wonder how I might get them back.....how are sketchmaps stored? It seems like the *.sketchmap-files in the plugins/sketchmap-folder are intact. Where is the information stored, linking a map and a *.sketchmap-file?
Is there a way to restore them (besides placing them again)?
BTW: Sketchmap is so awesome :) !

Posted Apr 26, 2015I got a idea, make it so /sketchmap list displays in pages and not one giant row that you will eventually only see a quarter of it. Also maybe make it so players can see the sketchmaps only they made or being able to look at a sketchmap to get them.
