SignEdit

Description

This plugin allows you to edit signs while they are still on block/wall they were placed on.

Features

  • Logging.. Every edit made to a sign is logged in either console or a separate log file.
  • Colours! See the Colours With SignEdit page
  • As an added bonus, SignEdit will parse colours when you place a sign.
  • SignEdit throws a SignChangeEvent with every edit. This means that if a player is trying to make a sign that they don't have permission to create, they can't! This is compatible with almost every major plugin that uses signs. It also works with HawkEye, so you can see who changed what!

The difficulty with that is figuring out who owns the sign. We didn't want to add dependances to other sign/block protection plugins to figure out ownership. Instead we added the fireBlockBreak setting which causes SignEdit to spoof a block break event on the sign that's about to be edited, if no other plugins cancels the event we assume the player has permission to edit that sign and proceed with the line change.

Try enabling fireBlockBreak and locking the sign with LWC, WorldGuard or some other protection plugin. If your protection plugin normally prevents a player from breaking the sign SignEdit should be prevented from editing the sign as well.

Hello there! I have a very good suggestion for you! Its a big one, but maybe you can do it...

Can you make it so that players can only edit their own signs? This would be really good as right now players could just go edit all my spawn signs. A GUI would also be epic. Cheers! :)

There is some bug, regular players without any perms to edit can still use colored signs and create signs with colored text... I know that because I just unloaded the plugin, made a player test and it was signedit :/

Can u add a Screen so when you click to edit the sign, a sign writing menu appears. It would make this plugin 1,000,000,000 times better! :P I love this plugin

I don't like op, So I am in my own group that I made. After adding all of the permissions to my admin group, I can't edit signs. It always says cannot paste, cannot edit etc. Please fix this permission bug.

Nice Plugin! Works great, also with newest bukkit dev =)

    Question:

Could you add an Option inside the Config to Change or disable the prefix for next version? :)

That is probably because the sign is used by essentials, so essentials is blocking the sign from being changed.
