SecretSwitch
This plugin will allow you to create a hidden button or lever on any block, this is very easy to do and can be useful in many ways.
Please post any (constructive) suggestions and ideas here.
Tutorial:
- Place a sign on the back of a block.
- Put "[SecretSwitch]" on the 2nd line.
- Put "Button" or "Lever" on the 3rd line.
- (Optional) Assign the switch a name on the 4th line.
- Right click the block, it'll activate any redstone that's connected to or below the sign.
Features:
- Create a hidden Button or Lever on any block.
- Allow only certain players to activate switches.
Permissions:
- SecretSwitch.create -> Allows you to create a SecretSwitch.
- NEW : SecretSwitch.use.x-> Allows you to use a SecretSwitch.*
Notes:
The previous version (1.5) would treat the 4th line of a sign as a group, it no longer does this.
* Replace 'x' with the name of the switch.
I'm looking into using this plugin, however I was wondering if it was available on Github, as I was hoping to fork it and tweak some of the text variables for my server
This plugin will eventually be re-written, If you use this plugin and you have some ideas on new features or changes, let me know.
@Therevjoe
I haven't tested it on anything besides Bukkit and Spigot, are you getting any errors in the console?
@Kris162CP
Give it a try for yourself, It should still be working.
@MikeX7
Sounds like a great idea, I'll update it soon and add that new permission. If you have any other ideas, let me know. :)
Can I Have Please == Scr? ==
Hi, fantastic plugin first of all loved it previously made my buildings so much better. However I'm on a new server now with a new world on tekkit classic and the plugin won't work. On my previous tekkit classic sever it was perfect on this one I can create signs but they won't power anything just get the click noise. Please help. Using essentials plugin but am opped so can use all commands.
Does this work for 1.7.9? Don't wanna create any risks.
Tried it again...apparently it was something on my pc. It works with 1.7.2 build #2941
Any chance this will be updated to 1.7.2? I tried it on the latest dev build and it barfs java errors big time.
lyarinightwing: you need to place ted redstone in front of the sign otherwise it won't work, i learned that the hard way and wasted alot of time before figuring it out:(
Paulpkyou: it would be great to have separate permission for using the switch, so we will be able to define that player will be able to use the secret switch but not to create one
@Flocki909
Go for it. :)
@lyarinightwing
Does it give off any console errors?
Hello. Can i make a German YouTube Video about the Plugin? ;) I think the plugin is very nice.
Flocki909
@lyarinightwing
ok so the client works and is amazing except for one little piece.....its not turning on the redstone or anything else
nevermind
you have 2 use the redstone as the button/switch? i would think you would right click on the other side of the block
@Paulpkyou
Yeah i kinda figured it might be client side but for some odd reason it just doesn't want to work so i want to ask if you could try to get the plugin to work for tekkit lite?
@lyarinightwing
The "!?" is when someone tries to use a character that is not allowed on a sign, It's either an issue with the client entering characters on the sign that it shouldn't be or the server doing it for some reason, I've only used tekkit once so I'm not too sure about that.
Hi there love the concept of this plugin but sadly it doesn't work in Tekkit Lite 1.4.7 I place the sign and it says I did so I know it registers it but on the sign in the third and fourth line it shows this !? on both lines. Can you help me because the owner of the server i am on would love to use this plugin
@tek2974
Hmm, maybe for the next update. The reason it uses signs and not commands is because with signs I don't have to store any data in a database, It's a lot cleaner than having a database full of switch locations.
My players and I love this, I would like to request something though. Add pressure plate functionality. That way when someone walks over the block it activates. Should be able to do it since it updates whenever you touch a block.
Also a command line mode, that doesn't need the sign. That would also be amazing.
@AcidSikeO
I'll have to add support for that, it currently only works for PEX, bPermission, and GroupManager.
