Commands and Permissions
You can use the shorter command /ss instead of the longer /scrollingsigns command. All permissions default to OP only.
Command | Permission | Description |
---|---|---|
/scrollingsigns | None | Displays plugin information and command help |
/scrollingsigns set <line> <message> | ScrollingSigns.set | Allows any text on any sign to be turned into a "scrolling sign". |
/scrollingsigns unset <line> | ScrollingSigns.unset | Allows the removal of any line (remove and stop it from scrolling) on any scrolling sign). |
None | ScrollingSigns.notify | When a player joins and an update is needed, if they have this permission a message will be sent to this player advising to restart or reload the server to complete the update. |
The Config
The plugin stores the signs in this config, so please do not modify the file when it is in use.
Metrics
This plugin sends statistics about the usage to the server http://mcstats.org/. You can disable this by going into your plugins folder, "PluginMetrics" and open the config.yml file. Change "opt-out: false" to "opt-out: true".
Disabling the auto updater
In the config, there will be an option called "autoUpdater". If you change this to "false" the plugin will not auto update itself, and if you keep it on true, it will auto update itself when needed.
The Auto Updater is a BukkitDev friendly updater, that means every file comes after it has been approved. This auto updater will alert your staff with the permission listed above

I'm using 1.7.2 and the plugin works. I tried to make a scrolling text, followed /ss set 1 text and it said that it has been added, but doesn't display anything. Can someone please help me? Thanks!
Plugin still works great on 1.8. Fun plugin showcase/tutorial on Scrolling Signs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8nvLeoPHm0

@ChevyIsBeast12 You are supposed to break the block and then place another sign, When you break the block the plugin registers its location and then when you put it back it will show up with the scrolling text!
When I do /ss set 1 text and break the sign it says sign created but it doesn't show up, I tried to relog but it still won't show up. I read through the comments and some say they have this problem too, so I know I'm not the only one. Any help would be appreciated :) Thank you.
Super plug-in thankyou very much
Can you make it so we can use multiple signs for one string of text? thank you.
@Kd181999
No, you must break the sign, and then the text will apear.
This should be say by the plugin to.
Doesnt seem to work on my server... I mean it says "Sign Line added" but nothing appears. Do I need a specific plugin such as vault to make it work?
Is it possible, that the text will come in scrolling?
@Dyenx999
No need as it should work for 1.7
@stuntguy3000
will u be updating this to 1.7.2 ?
If the text fits on the sign, it doesn't scroll.
Why doesn't it work for me? If I do /ss set 1 text it tells Break the sign you want to scroll or whatever it says and if I break it it says sucessfully created but there is no scrolling text :/
Best plugin EVER MADE! Good job!
@xiaobaiya
Something i hope to implement soon :)
Can you make a sentence which's final and ahead connected, it will be better
Release 1.2.3 - Colours stick! Please wait 24h for the BukkitDev staff to approve the file, but you will be notified on login when it is ready to be updated. :)
@OrigodStudios
That is something i am trying to work around. The best thing i can do is allow a "prefix" to be added, whereas a prefix will never go away. However this means only 1 colour could be used.
Can you add colours?
It work but if it scrols it will be normal!
