PProtect Password Protection

PProtect

Password Protection

PProtect in Action

This plugin stops player's accounts from being hijacked by other players. If someone logs onto your server, they will need to provide a password which they use to log in. This stops hackers harming your server if they get your password with an extra layer of security, and stops almost all zero day attacks that let players gain access (e.g. session hijacking). The players are teleported to a secure location upon login, and will be teleported back to the last place they quit when they were logged in after they log in. If you wish, you can allow players to not have to use a password.

Commands

  • /setpassword [password] - Set your password. You can only do this if you are logged in or don't have a password set already.
  • /setpassword nopassword- Don't use a password.
  • /setpassword [player name] [passord] Set someone else's password (ops only)
  • /login [password] - Login. Allows you to move around.

Configuration File

#Enter the location players spawn in
x: 1
y: 2
z: 3
world: 'world'
#If you want password to be required, leave 1. If not, leave 0.
required: 0
#If you want ops to have to enter a password, leave 1. If not, leave 0.
oppassword: 1
#If you want players to have to enter a good password, leave 1. If not, leave 0.
goodpassword: 1

Jail

Unlike other password security plugins, PProtect will send players to a jail, and then teleport to the location they logged out of after logging in. This is beneficial, because if some finds your minecraft password, they cannot "spy" on your location with F3. Covered on the config section (above).

Changelog

  • Added password strength test, and ops can change others' passwords. Also, ops can be made so they must enter a password while others don't.
  • 1.2-Stops players who aren't logged in from dropping/picking up items, interacting, chatting, other commands, using portals, and all that jazz. Also, created a spawnpoint where players go to when they first log in, then will be teleported back to their last logged in place they left. It can be set in the config. Also, you can do /setpassword nopassword to use no password. You can enable or disable this.
  • 1.1-Fixed a bug letting player who haven't logged in use their inventory and use chests and crafting tables. Also fixed the plugin.yml.
  • 1.0-Released Plugin

Notes

  • Don't use your Minecraft password as you password. (IMPORTANT!!!)
  • Comment if you see any bugs.
