There is a video showing actual operation operation which is also applicable for this plugin as the output to the LEDs (bar the flashing on startup) is the same for both versions.

Yes, on both counts, I'm currently testing an external server version and will release it over the summer sometime. I have a rack with Ubuntu server running Spigot in the garage which passes status command to a raspberry pi connected to the same hardware as this plugin uses in the living room. I just need to tidy up a few things before I release it here as the IP address of the RaspberryPi is currently hardcoded.

It could be made to work with a piGlow and that would be a good solution for people who didn't want to get a soldering iron out. There's a Java package here that could used in conjunction with my code to enable this. It isn't currently a direction that I'm looking at as my next project after this is for a 2 line LCD display version which will show player names.

Thanks for your comment, I appreciate that it is a very niche plugin usage and as such will have a limited audience!

I use it so that the kids (who are the ones who play Minecraft not me) can see when someone joins the server from outside via the traffic light indicator which sits under the TV in the living room.
