NoCheatPlus

160 - Time flows faster (drink potion in 0,3s / die underwater in 3 seconds)

I've downloaded yesterday NoCheatPlus for 1.3.1 and time started to flow faster.

Sympthoms:
- drinking potion in fraction of second
- burning to death in seconds
- dying underwater in seconds
- hunger -6 after moving 1 block from spawn

Temporary fix:
- remove NoCheatPlus plugin

    @asofold: Go

    I will close this ticket as "denied", also due to the net server handler stuff being an experimental addition for a CraftBukkit issue and the ability of latest versions not to use it.

    We are still aware of the flymod problems and NeatMonster wil probably make further attempts to provide a fix lateron.

    Feel free to open a new ticket for the actual problem (DisguiseCraft compatibility, FlyMod resetting), or wait till others do (im sure someone will, if not me).

    Not necessarily, but overriding the network handlers is clearly a risk.

    Both NoCheatPlus and Orebfuscator are doing it and using proxies for it, if set to.

    Probably DisguiseCraft is only checking for Orebfuscator overriding network handlers, one might get in touch with the DC devs to somehow solving that issues, they are well experienced on that field. Unfortunately NeatMonster is away, probably you can ask them to look into compatibility with NCP as well ?

    I am running Orebfuscator and NCP in parallel without problems (without proxy/nomovedtooquickly), others seem to run NCP and DC in parallel without complications, could be the combination of three :) ... i would certainly like to see these three compatible!

    @UltraMC: Go

    I managed to resolve my issues by removing DisguiseCraft as it conflicts with nocheat, but I noticed your not using that.

    I guess any plugin that uses a custom NetServerHandler will conflict with nocheat.

    I know its strange that I ask this but: Did you check that your system time does run right? And on which time region is your server running?

    @cyclo666: Go I don't think this check is responsible for this issue: it simply calculates the time elapsed between the moment the player starts eating the food and the moment the player finishes eating the food. If the time elapsed is too short, the food level change event is cancelled.

    @NeatMonster: Go

    It may be something to do with Instanteat. With that enabled players need to eat more than usual to get a full hunger bar and nocheat spams a lot of instanteat checks. With this disabled food restores the correct amount of hunger.

    I'm not sure if this fixes the hunger bar dropping to fast though.

    After a little bit of research: It appears that heal, hunger and oxygen levels are changed according to the number of moving packets sent by the client (normally at the rhythm of one update every 20 packets). I don't know why Minecraft is relying on the packets instead of the server ticks, but it works that way. So, I guess something is probably increasing the number of packets received. If the issue happens on builds without our custom NetServerHandler, I don't see how NCP could modify the packets sent. That's really strange...

    I'm unable to reproduce it myself, but i have had players say hunger is buggy, so i'm really not sure. Sorry I cant give you a proper answer. Drowning damage seems to be fine though.

    This is completely unrelated to the ticket and I should probably make a new one, but falling seems bugged again. When a player falls the console will spam moving to quickly and the server tries to slow the falling speed down, occasionally nocheat will output a 'failed no fall' check, the player will also take 0 damage. But this doesn't happen all the time.

    Disabling the nofall check doesn't help.

    @cyclo666: Go

    Does this still happen with cncp 6.0.0 ?

    (Just asking for reference, knowing you just tested it.)
