Detect and fight the exploitation of various flaws/bugs in Minecraft!

Features Permissions Commands Configuration Jenkins

NoCheatPlus attempts to prevent cheat clients from exploiting weaknesses of Minecraft or its protocol, making your server more safe. Checks cover a wide range of issues including flying and speeding, fighting hacks, fast block breaking and nukers, inventory hacks, chat spam and other types of malicious behaviour. For a more complete list have a look at the Features Page.

NoCheatPlus puts emphasis on configurability and allows you to customize actions that are carried out when a player fails a check (e.g. silent cancelling, executing commands, just logging). Bypass permissions allow to control what check to apply for which players, all checks can be deactivated in the configuration, also having the option for world-specific configuration files. Many checks allow more detailed configuration to adjust sensitivity.

Certainly NoCheatPlus is not a magical bullet, it uses a lot of heuristics and even guessing, so you will encounter false positives here and there and also not catch every single violation. Example video of how NoCheatPlus blocks cheats (outdated plugin version).

NoCheatPlus was introduced by NeatMonster, building on the code base of NoCheat by Evenprime.

The following plugins might be useful to have a look at.

Allows NoCheatPlus to activate packet-level checks, covering a range of exploits that can't be monitored using ordinary means. Since roughly Minecraft 1.7.10, the fight.speed check can't work as expected anymore, due to changes in CraftBukkit. With ProtocolLib this can be repaired.

CompatNoCheatPlus (cncp)

Make plugins like mcMMO, Citizens, MagicSpells or MachinaCraft more compatbile with NoCheatPlus. Not all existing plugins are covered (yet), but you can leave a note or ticket request for cncp.

Orebfuscator fights all sorts of X-ray-hacks by altering the map information that is sent to the players, such that they have to mine blocks to actually reveal what is behind. Virtually a "must have". (Latest versions of Spigot contain features of Orebfuscator.)

    Hi, I seem to be having a problem with sprinting in 1.7. In this update, you can use the CTRL Key to toggle sprinting. I use the CTRL key heavily now, and when I try to attack players or mobs while pressing it, it thinks I'm hacking. However, if I let go for a second and double tap W, I can sprint fine again. How can I make it less strict about automatically running with the CTRL key? (This is a feature in default Minecraft now.)

    @MasterMithrandir: Go

    The chat configuration might give some hints:

    Basically you have the settings to control when to trigger a violation with two sections: shortterm and normal. While "normal" covers about 30 seconds, "shortterm" covers about 5 seconds, that should allow to balance fast messages vs. rough overall chat frequency in a very basic way. To make it more restrictive you would decrease the level value. Further you can adapt the actions, because with faster cancelling one might not need as fast kicking, but that is subject to testing then.

    Further you have a range of settings to make word repetition more expensive (message.repeat... and the "engines"). Activating parts of the global and player sections allow to penalize repetitions of words or prefixes of words either from global chat or per-player.

    We don't have a specific check for those, FastConsume covers instant consumption of items, however autosoup implies that instant consumption of soup is provided by a plugin as a feature.

    How can I handle chat spam, making it more restrictive, and how can I control the general flow of the chat?

    If you have ProtocolLib please update and if you have Spigot update that also.

    When a player spams in chat and Nocheat stops it, the server crashes.

    @Flipperflies555: Go

    "So it would seem."

    @zachrywilsn: Go

    This likely is caused by some combat-tag plugin, a maliciously set up NPC plugin (NPC registered as actual players with real player names who are also online), or some plugin that kicks players during login/join.

    If NCP still works it might be ok, if you get more errors, or if you have NPCs with the players names, then it is a problem.

    You can turn it off in the configuration (data.consistencychecks.suppresswarnings), though that would not help finding the causes - can you PM a plugin list?
