About MV2

Multiverse was created at the dawn of Bukkit multiworld support. It has since then grown into a complete world management solution including special treatment of your nether worlds with Multiverse NetherPortals

In the second delivery of Multiverse, we've broken it up into several smaller plugins that are each feature packed but not bloated! Multiverse provides the easiest to use world management solution for your Minecraft server, big or small, and with great addons like Portals and NetherPortals, what's not to love!

Multiverse is back, and works for the latest server build! Is your server, a Multiverse?

What is an Awesome Build?

You can think of this like Bukkit's RB system, but we don't want to create confusion, so instead of calling ours a Recommended Build also, we're going with "Awesome Build" or AB. Awesome Builds are ones that we've put some more testing into, and should be very stable. Unfortunately, due to lack of developers able to work on the Multiverse suite, and the inability to achieve the normal Awesome Build quality level, we have discontinued our Awesome Builds until further notice. Our beta builds available on this site are fairly stable so don't disregard them!

Is Multiverse Missing that little something that you need?

Ask us! Or better yet, hop on our IRC (#multiverse) and tell us that you'd like to fork us and add a feature! You can of course do this without consulting us, but we cannot accept pull requests that will break Multiverse for the rest of our users! <<reply 2568858="">> It wasn't a pull request, although development would be considered slow by some; were are making legitimate progress on making Multiverse more user friendly and fixing some of the bugs. Nether Portals does need some attention, however we're moving it into the main multiverse package, or at least most of it for the next major release. (We're planning to, we're yet to work on that part). Multiverse-Core is the main focus as it's the most used part of Multiverse, people are free to commit changes to the other plugins, and we'll run them if we see fit. What we don't want is to get to a stage where we accept so many pull requests where a whole more load of issues bundle up and instead of working on the plugin, we're working on fixing things. Rest assured, we are working on the Multiverse plugins, but core is the priority right now.

Okay. Let's look at an issue.

    https://github.com/Multiverse/Multiverse-NetherPortals/issues/72

Non-player entities of any kind are being destroyed when they attempt to travel through a Nether portal. It appears that someone has committed a fix for this, but no one ever tested it or merged it to the master branch.

If that issue is valid, development is happening (in secret) and this is fixed but no one knows about it; if that issue is not valid, no contributors have marked it as such since 2013.

    Which is it?

<<reply 2568714="">> Development is happening. Development isn't being documented. This plugin has support and downloads on this page. Spigotmc is not where you should receive either downloads or support for this plugin set. Correct documentation on this plugin is on the wiki. Most of the issues are invalid and are just misuse on the user's side so we're looking to make a more user frienedly version for the next release. They're submitting issues on Github.

"Yes" isn't an answer to "where is it being done," and the antecedent of "it" in "why isn't it being documented" is "current development."

So I'll just ask that again.

Where is the current development happening and why isn't that development documented anywhere? The details on this page reflect the status of the project from almost a year ago, and the details on spigotmc.org are even older.

How are you deciding whether an issue is valid? Are you the only remaining active developer on the project? If people don't know where the development is happening, how are they submitting issues to you? I find it hard to believe no issues have been worked on since 21 August 2014 simply because none of them were valid.

<<reply 2568255="">> Yes, why isn't what being documented? Issues are worked on if valid.

Is this set of plugins still being developed at all?

I ask because I haven't seen any new commits to your repository since last August. I see numerous forks, some containing badly needed fixes. For the plugin with the fourth highest usage in the world -- after only Spigot itself, Essentials, and Vault -- that's Very Disappointing.

If any current development is happening, where is it being done and why isn't it being documented?

    @TWSSYesterday: Go

The water smoke isn't an issue as the water's still being created and flows around. My main issue is that Eyes of Ender are being blocked by some obscure plugin, even for the owner of the server.
