About MV2

Multiverse was created at the dawn of Bukkit multiworld support. It has since then grown into a complete world management solution including special treatment of your nether worlds with Multiverse NetherPortals

In the second delivery of Multiverse, we've broken it up into several smaller plugins that are each feature packed but not bloated! Multiverse provides the easiest to use world management solution for your Minecraft server, big or small, and with great addons like Portals and NetherPortals, what's not to love!

Multiverse is back, and works for the latest server build! Is your server, a Multiverse?

What is an Awesome Build?

You can think of this like Bukkit's RB system, but we don't want to create confusion, so instead of calling ours a Recommended Build also, we're going with "Awesome Build" or AB. Awesome Builds are ones that we've put some more testing into, and should be very stable. Unfortunately, due to lack of developers able to work on the Multiverse suite, and the inability to achieve the normal Awesome Build quality level, we have discontinued our Awesome Builds until further notice. Our beta builds available on this site are fairly stable so don't disregard them!

    Found the problem!

    If keepSpawnInMemory is false, chunks do not unload.

    Confirmed: It's a plugin conflict. Tested on a server with only Multiverse-Core and Essentials and chunks seem to unload. I'm now trying to discover what plugin is clashing.

    The point is, I did not take too many timings in the case. But how would you go around explaining the constantly increasing amount of chunks? Currently that behavior seems pretty reluctant and stubborn.

    @CosmoConsole: Go

    Chunks aren't the issue with your particular case, it's the entities within the chunks; I've seen your timings report and that is the case, if you have more timings, that'd be great :) PM me them please too.

    @TWSSYesterday: Go

    The amount of entities (6000 entities) was merely caused by the massive amount of chunks loaded (11000 loaded chunks, this amount was slowly accumulated over time, which did NOT happen before I switched over to Spigot 1.8). I have no other explanation but that the chunk unloading refuses to work with Spigot 1.8 - and that is your problem. It is even further proven by the fact that I'm running the chunk unloading script every 5 minutes now and there has been no issues at all.

    Entity activation ranges are, by the way, way below than they are by default.

    Also, see this, where I took measurements of /etps (Essentials tps command) when doing something, which clearly also point to a bug in the chunk unloading. I am also obliged to show this in real-time.

    @CosmoConsole: Go

    Entities are the issue here. You need to limit your entites, try limiting your entity activation rate to a lower value.

    Timings report?
