Version 16.0 notes:

  • Updated to Minecraft 1.7.2.

Config

http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/config/

(Is partially updated)

You will need to reference craftbukkit enums for drops and block attacking to work, failure to use valid enums could potentially break your plugin. You can find them here:

http://jd.bukkit.org/doxygen/d6/d0e/enumorg_1_1bukkit_1_1Material.html

You may want to play with Spawn Points, you can find the info here:

http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/spawn-points/

If you wish to develop your own plugin with my health API, check this page:

http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/health-api/

For Nightmare Mode, check here:

http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/monster-apocalypse/pages/nightmare-mode/

Need multiple configs?

How to set up multiple installations, for different custom difficulties on multiple worlds:

  1. Copy the MA jar and rename it.
  2. Rename the plugin inside plugin.yml of the second copy (within the jar), and remove the commands section.
  3. Disable registering the /MA command in the second copy's config.
  4. Double check that you have no world names overlapping between the two configs, and that your bonus and naturalistic spawns are restricted to the right worlds.

You now have two separate installations.

Fear the Darkness: Adds an element of terror to dark areas of minecraft!

    So I must create "underground" region which prevent spawning Ghasts underground.
    So what about Withers don't spawning? They should spawn 3 times often than Ender Dragons but each day players kills nearly 5 Dragons but any Wither don't appear...

    I dont understand the difference- If you tell the plugin the "MAX Y it is able to use to FIND a place" then wouldn't it still work the same? If you are saying it's impossible to restrict spawning to a certain Y axis then thats fine ill look for a way to do it elsewise.

    Also, is there a way to prevent mobs from either - spawning within a certain range of spawn, or ignore players inside a worldguard region with a certain flag? Monsters are flooding players in spawn as soon as they join and currently the only way I can think of to avoid it is make a big worldguard region where mob spawning is set to false, and make the region bigger than the aggro of the mobs so they dont flood my spawn

    @mrretrus: Go

    Bonus spawns are made to FIND a place for the mobs to spawn on the Y axis, so never use them for height-restricted area spawns.

    @blainicus Thats exactly what mine looks like-

    http://pastebin.com/7ZdpRMsR

    As you can see, my setup is exactly liek yours! The Y settings are actually 63- but they still shouldnt be spawning on top of buildings. The "naturalistic" spawns dont appear to do anything. The only way to get them to spawn is if i add them directly to bonus spawns list- but then they spawn above the Y range.

        spawnymax: 65

    After messings with the 4 sections of monsters and countless true/false attempts, here I am asking for elp. I can't seem to get monsters to spawn in certain Y ranges. No matter which combination I use, I cant get spiders and silverfish to spawn beween 50-65 and everything else above. What happens is that they always just all spawn everywhere. On top of buildings which are 150 tall, spiders are spawning.

    How to set it up so you can assign monsters to certain Y ranges?

    Thnx!

    @Jacold: Go

    You'll have to disable non-ghasts in your bonus spawns and use my settings then.

  • Avatar of Jacold Jacold Feb 19, 2014 at 20:17 UTC - 0 likes

    @blainicus: Go

    I have:

      Ghast:
        spawn: true
        spawncount: 1
        spawnchance: 100.0
        spawnymin: 90
        spawnymax: 255
        replacement: Ghast

    I use bonus spawns for all mobs. And I have set:

    Bonus spawn Y offset: 0
    Automatically remove mobs who spawn inside blocks?: true
    Enable bonus spawns midair? (Useful for Ghasts): false

    Midair spawning I have set to false, because of falling damage for all mobs.

    This is settings which don't work.

    @Jacold: Go

    Bonus spawning doesn't actually force a certain height to trigger spawns. It scans from the player up and down looking for a spot (ensuring the wave spawns). Naturalistic, on the other hand, spawns anywhere and can have a minimum set.

    Assuming you have ghasts in bonus spawns and are using bonus spawns for other mobs too, I suggest setting this:

      Ghast:
        spawn: true
        spawncount: 1
        spawnchance: 100.0
        spawnymin: 80
        spawnymax: 255
        replacement: Ghast

    If you are only using bonus spawns for Ghasts, use these as well:

    Bonus spawn Y offset: 30
    Automatically remove mobs who spawn inside blocks?: true
    Enable bonus spawns midair? (Useful for Ghasts): true
