Welcome to the ultimate monster hell. I have brought together everything anyone everyone could ever want to do with monsters into one completely hellbent plugin. Use at your own risk.

Warning - Zombie digging is destructive, if you turn it on and configure it, please backup your worlds.

Plugin has been thoroughly tested as working properly, if you have trouble please report it so I can make it work for a wider range of setups!

PLEASE USE CRAFTBUKKIT 1.7.10 (any revision) for version 17.0. No other builds will work with this version.


Monster Apocalypse was created by one man, working full time continually for several months during early development. Please donate if you would like to see more features or new plugin releases, or just feel like my time is worth your gratitude.

  • Total natural spawn rewrite, available to change your world drastically and retain that vanilla feel.

  • Spawn Points - Set up virtual spawners with custom timers!
  • True damage - Allow mobs to pierce that pesky diamond armor!

  • Permissions nodes to make certain players immune to monster aggro and damage.

You will need to reference craftbukkit enums for drops and block attacking to work, failure to use valid enums could potentially break your plugin. You can find them here:

Need multiple configs?

How to set up multiple installations, for different custom difficulties on multiple worlds:

  1. Copy the MA jar and rename it.
  2. Rename the plugin inside plugin.yml of the second copy (within the jar), and remove the commands section.
  3. Disable registering the /MA command in the second copy's config.
  4. Double check that you have no world names overlapping between the two configs, and that your bonus and naturalistic spawns are restricted to the right worlds.

You now have two separate installations.

Fear the Darkness: Adds an element of terror to dark areas of minecraft!

Simple Starvation: For when you really want to emphasize long term survival!

    Hey, this plugin is great and thank you for your help so far! I have a few quick questions :D.

    1. In the config, if you disable vanilla spawning of a mob, does it prevent that mob from spawning? I've noticed that even though I disabled every mob except zombie, giant, and wolves, skeletons and spiders still spawn in the world.

    2. Could you add an option for the witch? I'm doing a zombie apocalypse server and it's annoying to have a ton of witches here and there (plus the skeletons and spiders that shouldn't be there).

    Hi, I downloaded the plugin and when I configured the config and tried playing the game, my console is spammed with "Task #20 for Monster_Apocalypse v<17.0> generated an exception". This happens when I enter the world that's supposed to spawn mobs in gamemode 0. When I put myself in creative, the error stops spamming.

    Please help if you can!

    Prevents monsters from attacking this player, if mega-aggro or custom damage is enabled.

    There are no other nodes.

    @robodude99: Go

    Bonus distance max scale is the maximum value that monster health and damage can be multiplied given distance from spawn.

    Bonus or naturalistic bonus spawns would suit your spawning needs.

    What is bonus distance max scale in the config? I want to spawn all my save mobs in a single area near the player but not in the exact same spot how would I config that? Thanks!

    I got a little problem:
    I enabled zombie wall destruction and i's working fine. The problem I have is about dirt: I dont want players to build indestructible houses of dirt, but I also don't want zombies to grief mountains/hills.

    Monster Apocalypse drops use a custom handler which doesn't check death reason. It should work alright in combination with another drop plugin if you leave 'replace' off. Then just use the other plugin to handle drop tables.

    Reduce your spawn rates or move your spawn distance closer to players to saturate it near play areas, it should help.

    try, running on 1.7.2 with MA, difficulty 3 and free world, no rules, but it currently crashes from time to time because of some out of memory caused by MA plugin, so it is not uptime 24/7 - however I am restarting it quite often :P
