Mob Spawner

This project is abandoned.

Whether this project is out of date or its author marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

This plugin's functionality has been incorporated into Mobs. Please switch to Mobs instead of this one (Mobs is much better anyway :) )

    If mobs had a good documentation...

    Hey, can you check the mobs in the area and around it and if it matchs the mobs of the config area it won't spawn more mobs? Cause I'm suffering with it, I put 5 pigs to spawn every 5 minutes but it keeps spawing 5 pigs even when there are 5 pigs already spawned in the area, you could put a config area to check for the mobs so it won't spawn more! Thanks!

    The three most recent plugins I've written - Mob Drops, Mob Spawns, and Mob Spawner - have all had a common theme, and a lot of the code was duplicated between them.

    There were also a couple of good suggestions posted in the comments which were much easier (or only possible) within one plugin.

    So I decided to do it and release Mobs (currently waiting approval if you can't see the page).

    Consequently, the three plugins mentioned at the top of this post will be left to rot and all further development will be on Mobs.

    The good news is that there is nothing that can't be done in Mobs that could be in these three plugins, and already a few new features - unique mobs that will drop special items, mobs spawning other mobs when killed, wool colours for sheep and probably more I forgot.

    There were a couple of small changes to the config file from these plugins to Mobs so please read the section on the main page (I think the documentation is a bit better over there too!)

    \o/

    Hopefully you can see how the base and range values affect the spawn area. Try increasing the range x and z, and moving the base x and z to another location for some of the mobs to see the difference.

    Here's one:

    spawns:
    - mobs:
      - name: giant
        quantity:
        - {min: 1, max: 3}
        location:
          world: world
          base: {x: 0, y: 120, z: 0}
          range: {x: 10, y: 5, z: 10}
      - name: magma_cube
        quantity:
        - {min: 1, max: 3}
        sizes:
        - {min: 2, max: 5}
        location:
          world: world
          base: {x: 0, y: 120, z: 0}
          range: {x: 10, y: 5, z: 10}
      - name: wolf
        angry: yes
        quantity:
        - {min: 1, max: 3}
        location:
          world: world
          base: {x: 0, y: 120, z: 0}
          range: {x: 10, y: 5, z: 10}
      - name: blaze
        quantity:
        - {min: 1, max: 3}
        location:
          world: world
          base: {x: 0, y: 120, z: 0}
          range: {x: 10, y: 5, z: 10}
      - name: pig_zombie
        quantity:
        - {min: 3, max: 5}
        location:
          world: world
          base: {x: 0, y: 120, z: 0}
          range: {x: 10, y: 5, z: 10}
      - name: mushroom_cow
        quantity:
        - {min: 1, max: 3}
        location:
          world: world
          base: {x: 0, y: 120, z: 0}
          range: {x: 10, y: 5, z: 10}
      - name: villager
        quantity:
        - {min: 3, max: 5}
        location:
          world: world
          base: {x: 0, y: 120, z: 0}
          range: {x: 10, y: 5, z: 10}
      - name: ghast
        quantity:
        - {min: 1, max: 1}
        location:
          world: world
          base: {x: 0, y: 120, z: 0}
          range: {x: 10, y: 5, z: 10}

    This will activate every 60 seconds near the block 0, 120, 0 (the Y is high to make sure it spawns above ground). Change the X and Z to wherever you want the base to be.

    The problem was that pigzombie, mushrromcow, and magmacube need hypens in them - which I didn't know :) I'll change that.

    Sorry to be a pain but it still doesn't seem to be working any way I could just get a config to just cut and paste with those same mobs or a few of them, setup to just basically spawn at a good clip along with all the other regular mobs. I'm just trying to give my players more variety to fight. It may also give any one else looking into this plugin more examples of the config. I hate to be a bother but you seem to have the only plugin that spawns everything on autopilot. Also if we do get this working I would be happy to donate for this!
