Mention Notifier
Why?
So you don't miss when someone mentions your player name in the chat.
What does it do?
With this plugin you can be notified by a sound alert(click) if someone mentions your name somewhere in the chat.
How does it work?
If you want to be notified when someone mentions you in the chat, you can type the command "/notify". If you want to deactivate it you can just type it again!
Commands
- /notifier Show some information about the plugin and available commands.
- /notify Toggle notifications.
Permissions
- notifier.* Full access to the plugin. (Default to OP)
- notifier.menu You can use"/notifier" (Default to OP)
- notifier.use You can use "/notify" (Default to everybody)
Config
There is no config! (yet...)
TODO
- Adding a config with more options like different sounds, more effects, permissions etc. (Will be added in 0.0.2)
- Notify when something else happens.
- Nudge players. Like "/nudge someone" and it will alert that player. (Will be added in 0.0.2)
- The player can decide which words they get notified about when players mentions them. (Will be added in 0.0.2)

Posted Aug 22, 2014Seems to have lots of potential, while being something my players and I would find very useful. Props to you for the idea, and I'll be sure to try it out ASAP!
ALSO (if possible)! Can you make a config option to have Notifications on by default? That'd save lots of time and confusion in the long run!

Posted Aug 21, 2014if it could notify players with a specific node to hear a sound, example: Player in chat says a keyword defined in config, like if a player says "help" if it could notify a staff member with the permission node to hear a sound when the word "Help" is mentioned in chat.
or like a "/nudge playername" to play a sound to that player and notify the nudged player with a sound & message like "playername has nudged you"
Perfect for when staff are in game, but have minecraft behind a browser window when checking forums, etc. if this is added PLEASE put some way to add a cooldown to it so it can't be used to troll people.

Posted Aug 20, 2014New feature suggestion, because we all use nicknames on my server. Either have the plugin pick up the player's current nickname, or even better, let the player decide which words they get notified when people say them. We call each other short names that are neither full usernames nor our active nickname. If I was able to do /notifier add <word> and add some of the hot words that people use when they call for me, this plugin will be a lot more effective and very very useful since I don't look at the chat often and I don't want to miss out on conversations.
