LiftPlates
LiftPlates is a small plugin that provides moving elevators constructed with pressure plates and special control blocks. These components can be combined to create all sorts of contraptions beyond elevators, like moving doors and redstone machinery with longer-range moving parts than pistons can provide.
Full plugin documentation is available on the GitHub wiki
Usage
-
/mklift target up to create a lift controlled by the pressure plate your player is pointing at
- Any block that is the same type as the block that the lift pressure plate was created on is moved by the lift.
- To make a lift go in the opposite direction, just place it in the same group of same-typed blocks (within the lift radius, default 5 but configurable)
- Step on the pressure plate to start the lift moving
- Create a lift on a separate plate to move the opposite direction
- Read the Special Blocks wiki page to learn about blocks that control the lift's motion from outside the lift.

It won't be updated for Bukkit, but a Sponge port is not off the table yet.
I take it this won't be updated again?

Thanks for letting me know about the pressure plate issue. I've taken care of it and I'll release a new version soon.
Plates lifting up their surrounding blocks of the same type is an intentional feature. To make a lift that only lifts its own block, make the block below the lift of a type different than its surroundings. I'll add that to the documentation
Lifts should stop when you get off an up plate as long as the player was the one who triggered the plate in the first place.
If you're interested in making a video, I can give you a demo sometime on my server to make sure you cover everything
This would be cool if the lift returned to its point of creation after the player steps off. Otherwise this lift becomes useless and no one else can use the lift again.
seems like its a nice idea, but still very glitchy,
when I install all my pressure plates now click on and off when you stand on then
also the plate lifts up an area around it and doesn't stop when you get off an up plate
but its a nice idea and seems to mostly work
would love to make a video when its fully working
request: could you expand this to make lift regions, like a 3x3 block area....?
please make a video! thank you!

If a player activates the lift, it continues moving until the player steps off the lift. If an item being dropped (or an entity) activates the lift, it keeps on going until it is stopped by a block and the entity is no longer pressing the pressure plate. If a lift reaches the top of the world, it stops.
WHen they go up how do they stop and come down?
