Item Lore Stats

Thanks to BrightDanny for the logo.

Add functioning stats to your items to allow players to increase their player stats. Any gear/weapons that contain the correct lore that the plugin can detect (list below) will affect the wearer/wielder. ItemLoreStats helps you create an epic RPG experience. Will add more stats/options based on requests.

This has only been tested on v1.6.4, v1.7.2, v1.7.9 and v1.8.1 (May work on other versions but those are untested).

This is the Item Lore Stats plugin you can add to your server to get players farming/trading/looting gear to get the perfect stats for their character. It is currently v6.07 and was designed for Minecraft V1.6.4, V1.7.2, V1.7.9 and V1.8.1. Item Lore Stats offers random and unique loot tables for all of the default mobs and custom mobs. WorldGuard 6+ is required for WorldGuard support.

I will continue to support this and add many more features. If you have any suggestions please let me know through a ticket.

If you're using Spigot and you want Health/Damage/Speed to go above 2048 then you MUST modify spigot.yml and change the values under settings.attribute then restart the server, otherwise there will be a cap of 2048 on each of those stats.

Installation and configuration

Place the ItemLoreStats.jar into your plugins directory. Then all you need to do is run your server.

Negate these to restrict ops.

  • ils.admin
    description: Required for the /ils createlore, /ils name, /ils setMultiplier and /ils lore commands.
    default: op

  • ils.use.<Class_Name>
    description: This allows gear to be restricted to specific classes or groups that have the required permission. If an item contains the lore Class: Mage then that player would need the ils.use.Mage permission.
    default: op

These are some plugins I recommend using with Item Lore Stats;

  • BarAPI
    This will allow the players health to be displayed visually as the boss bar like shown in the video here.

  • AttributeHider
    This will remove the "+X attack damage" from swords.

As of v1.759 this plugin sends statistics about the usage to the server You can disable it by setting "opt-out" to true in \plugins\PluginMetrics\config.yml.

Auto-checking for updates

As of v2.18 this plugin will check for updates using Curse's ServerMods API. It always checks the current version with the version on BukkitDev and will notify ops or any players/groups with the ils.admin permission that there is an update available. It will never automatically download an update without the user typing /ils update. All of the updates are downloaded from BukkitDev. These checks can be disabled in the config.yml by setting checkForUpdates to false.

As people have requested a donation button to help support the development of Item Lore Stats I've decided to add one. Thanks to the current and future donations I really appreciate it.

    @adw123: Go

    The repair is not working i have a damaged gold pickaxe near like the yellow on a bar and I have tested right clicking and left clicking with like 20 gold ingots in my inv as well as sticks and still nothing :/...

    Durability stats don't even seem to appear on tools found as drops either and seem to break ridiculously fast:/ hmm... Not sure if thats cuz i have mcmmo set to "true" in the config because i am running mcmmo as well. IS there something i need to change about the mcmmo config as well maybe?

    For me the vanilla items don't really even appear to have stats at all just says the name really like "diamond chestplate" not stats under it or around it.

    Few things to try:

    Are you using ingots as opposed to ore?

    Try using a custom item with durability lore stats on it and see if that works. /ils createlore will give you a few to test with if you want something quick. Vanilla items may not work since they don't' have a durability stats that is visible.

    Hey so I have ils added but cannot figure out why the repairing is not working... :/ Everything else seems to be working fine except that I have all of the items in my inventory for the vanilla item when i left click on the workbench its like nothing happens... I just hit it lol

    Also there is no way to make it so items that are crafted have random lores added onto them?

    Just found another thing too >.< for some reason people are dropping there inventories... any way to change that as well.. haha sorry xD

    Is there something I'm doing wrong or something wrong with the setup, i mean there could be a plugin interfering with this I'm not sure exactly...

    Ok, so I created a brand new server from scratch. Installed craftbukkit then ILS. ILS is the only plugin running, not even Essentials is installed. Ran a /ils createlore command.

    Same results with the exception of one strange occurrence...I was in survival mode and I killed a dozen or so mobs. Durability didn't drop. I switched the game to creative mode and I noticed that the weapon lost 1 point of durability. Killed a bunch of mobs in creative mode but it didn't drop any more. Switched back and forth between modes trying to figure something out but couldn't replicate what happened. As before, when I rolled back to 3.35 it started working.

    I feel like I'm going crazy because this just doesn't make any sense...I don't know what else it could be...Virtually everything is at the default settings and configuration. No mods can possibly be conflicting at this point. I'm running with most up to date Java (7.55) on Windows 8.1 64 bit and using CraftBukkit 1.7.2 R03. Everything should be working.

    I disabled all of my plug-ins last night one at a time and couldn't get it to work. Tonight I'm gonna build a server from scratch, install just craftbukkit, essentials and ILS and see if I can get it working.

    In the SavedMobs files, what is the first number indicating? (In this case, the '15'

    itemId: 298

    nameColour: '&f&l'

    prefix: random

    suffix: random

    @WAP2011: Go

    Armour should work fine but I've heard that regen doesn't work correctly with Heroes installed but I'm looking into fixing that. Had a look at that log and it doesn't have anything to do with that.

    Armour and Life Regen doesn't work for me :/ I tested few others and it was okey. Does it have anything to do with Heroes error?

    @ferrago: Go

    Yea this is something I want to add but I need to put a list of everything first.

    @adw123: Go

    My only guess would be that it could be caused by MythicMobs cancelling the event as the rest of the plugins couldn't really cause that to happen but I'll check to make sure. Tested with MythicMobs and durability is reduced on the item in hand.

    @Executerz666: Go

    In the config.yml

    @ferrago: Go

    This looks like Heroes is causing the null error but I'll put a small check in before returning the value to make sure it doesn't return a null.

    @Executerz666: Go

    Some plugins restrict classes to specific permissions. Will possibly add something soon.
