IronElevators

Table of Contents

Stupid-simple elevators! The fastest, easiest way to navigate up your tallest towers! Just jump to go up and crouch to go down. No buttons, levers, pressure plates, or any other cumbersome mechanics. Stairs are too bulky and ladders are too slow! Simply place an iron block on each floor of your house in a vertical line, and you'll be flying through your mansion in no time!

Features

Create an elevator just by placing iron blocks above one another
Allows instant vertical travel between aligned iron blocks
No commands, No signs, No redstone or other required mechanics.

How to Install

Drop the jar in your plugins folder
By default, everyone has the permission to use the plugin
No Commands

How to use

Place iron blocks in a vertical line (with no more than 16 blocks between them)
Stand on one
Jump to go up to a higher level
Crouch to go down to a lower level

Commands/Permissions

There are no commands for this plugin.

Permissions:

ironelevators.use | default = true | Allow a player to teleport using this plugin.

Note: This permission is true for everyone by default. Use a decremental permission node to take the permission away from certain players. eg. "-ironelevators.use"

Configuration

Name : Default value : Description
minElevation : 3 : The minimum distance to place valid elevator blocks
minElevation : 14 : the maximum distance (minus 2, will be fixed in future release) to place valid elevator blocks
elevatorWhoosh : IRONGOLEM_THROW : the sound played when a player uses an elevator. Check here for possible values
elevatorMaterial : IRON_BLOCK : the block type used for elevators. Check here for possible values. Solid full-size block materials work best.

Not sure if it will work since it's not compiled with 1.9 but Iron Golem sounds are

One of the best plugins out there, 1.9 broke it. IronGolem Throw is not recognized. Wonder what they replaced it with? Haven't had time to review theAPI.

hi i have the max distance to 128 i can tp up but not down and with another can i tp down but not up why? (it a bug?)

If i'm not mistaken, ranks would usually have permissions associated with them. In which case it's up to the server owner to add the permission to use elevators. Let me know if this is not the case and i'll look into it.

Different block types per user is definitely possible. I'll look into setting that up for the next update.

Hey KFCYoshi1, Firstly do make sure that you're using v1.02 as the feature isn't avaliable in earlier versions. Secondly, the permission is true for everyone by default, so to disable it for a certain group of people you'll need to add a decremental permission. For example, if i'm using the plugin PermissionsEx and I don't want the group "default" to use the elevators, then the command would be

pex group default add -ironelevators.use

Yeah i know it's possible, but I don't quite see a reason to. Is that a feature that people actually use? If you're creating two separate elevators, they usually wouldn't be lined up anyways. So you already wouldn't be able to teleport between them.

Have you restricted movement between elevators by changing their color before? Or have you only used it for decorative purposes?

Also, now that I know that there's a mod with almost the exact same funcionality, I'm trying to not rip it off completely. XD
