InclementWeather
Are disasters your thing? Do you like giving challenges to your players? Would you want a plugin that brings randomized weather mechanics to the game? Of course you do, who wouldn't? InclementWeather brings a whole slew of new randomized weather events to your world including sandstorms, lightning storms, meteor showers, and tornadoes (thanks to 97WaterPolo) with more being added in future updates.
Features
- Disasters and weather changes occur randomly depending on certain conditions.
- All disasters can be manually deployed on specific players using commands.
- Most disasters are configurable (work in progress).
- Zeus Panel allows you to open a convenient GUI to deploy disasters on all players at once!
Commands & Permissions
- /sandstorm <player> | IW.sandstorm | Manually creates a sandstorm on specified player.
- /tornado <player> or /tor <player> | IW.tornado | Manually creates tornado on specified player.
- /lightningstorm <player> | IW.lightning | Manually creates a lightning storm on specified player.
- /meteorstrike <player> | IW.meteor | Manually creates meteor shower on specified player.
- /zeuspanel | IW.zeuspanel | Opens up Zeus Panel where you can choose to deploy a disaster on all players on server (including yourself).
Disasters
There are currently four disasters, but more will constantly be added.
Sandstorm
Block the sun out with this disaster! When a player is walking in a desert biome, there is a random chance that a sandstorm will be there to greet them. Sandstorms are out of the blue, and typically last up to 25 seconds (configurable). They spew sand all over the place, and best of all, the player cannot escape it! See pictures here.
CONFIGURABLES: You can enable or disable the random chance of a sandstorm spawning in the config, but you can always use the command as a manual override. You can also edit how long each sandstorm lasts, and whether or not they're restricted to deserts only, or all biomes!
SPECIAL FEATURES: Sandstorms can have evil sides to them. Set 'extremeSandStorm' in the config to true and really give your players something to run for. WARNING: May lag client/server.
Lightning Storm
Boom! Crackle! Slam! Those are just a few of the noises you'll hear with the lightning storm. Lightning storms will generate tons of strikes around the player and will cause explosions to occur at the strike locations. Currently, these do not occur naturally. See pictures here.
CONFIGURABLES: None yet.
Meteor Shower
Its a bird! Its a plane! NO, its giant flaming balls of pure destruction falling from the sky at unimaginable speeds! Meteor showers will completely engulf the area around the player in flames and destruction. Currently, these do not occur naturally. See pictures here.
CONFIGURABLES: None yet.
Tornado
Thanks to 97WaterPolo's tornado code, we now have the ability to have naturally spawning tornadoes in our worlds! Tornadoes only spawn in plains and savanna biomes (configurable), and they pick up everything in their paths. Blocks, entities, mobs, even YOU! See pictures here.
CONFIGURABLES: You can enable or disable naturally spawning tornadoes. Tornado spew can be enabled or disabled (whether or not the tornado throws the blocks it picks up, or simply makes them disappear). Tornadoes can be toggled to appear only in its specific biome, or anywhere in the world (naturally).

That is a terrific suggestion, I shall look into adding that sometime in the future.
Awesome plugin concept, i'd really like to see this develop further. A suggestion: make it hook into worldguard regions , so certain regions can be configured to have certain weather
