hmm I have tested it and I believe it does in fact use the IP and not the hostname, it works fine.

You have a bug. The formed URL is wrong...

http://ip-api.com/json/cpe-66-66-66-66.kc.res.rr.com66.66.66.66

It should just be the IP, not the hostname.
