FlyingCarts

Have you ever wanted to fly with airplanes on your server? or maybe have turrets that people can use and fire tons of arrows at people?
FlyingCarts does just this for you - it allows you to fly around, creating more gameplay and fun. You can turn on guns for the planes, and then you can blast people to bits below you. If you want turrets, but no flying, simply turn off flying in the config and then you can dominate the battlefield.
How to use
Installation
Simply drag the .jar file into your plugins folder.
Setting up config
Open up FlyingCart's config file by going to plugins/FlyingCarts/config.yml You will see several default options in there:
- explodeOnImpact - when set to true, minecarts will explode and cause damage to environment when they crash
- killPassengerOnImpact - when set to true, the rider will die instantly when they crash
- destroyMinecartOnImpact - when set to true, the minecart will disappear when they crash
- flyingMinecarts - enable and disable flying minecarts
- upperLimit - maximum height for flying
- lowerLimit - minimum height for flying
- flyPermission - permission node used for flying
- arrowsPermission - permission node used for shooting arrows while in minecart
How to use
Simply right click a minecart and steer with mouse. Left click to fire arrows.
Commands
/reloadcarts - reload the config file without having to reload the whole server

Posted Jun 13, 2013Great plugin! I had 4 suggestions though: 1. Make it so the arrows don't destroy your cart when you aim down. 2. Have a command like /flyingcarts < on | off > to toggle the carts flying, so you can ride a minecart like regular if you want to. 3. Have the boat fly, but make it slower and drop bomb (primed TNT) when you right click, so that way you can have fighter jets (minecarts) and bombers (boats) 4. Make the airplanes use up coal in your inventory to fly, and when you fire arrows and drop TNT it uses up TNT and arrows in your inventory (configurable). Thanks, EtCetera112

Posted Mar 10, 2013Great plugin. Just a feature request, this is based off another plugin that I didn't really like the setup for. Can you add so that when you crouch you can drop primed tnt onto the land?

Posted Feb 15, 2013This is a really nice plugin but I think it is too easy to crash sometimes I even not fly away just my Index turn away .... I think you can use space let the cart fly up and down don't use index direction....

Posted Feb 7, 2013This is a really awesome plugin! Just added it to our public server and a lot of people really like it. I'm wondering if we could use it to create a few new events! That said, I think at the moment it could use a few more features. (Really good though for a new plugin.) :)
One feature I think you need to add is the ability to turn flying on or off via commands. I made 2 commands with the MyCommand plugin that tell the console to add or remove the permissions, but I do think there should be a built in function to change it for yourself (or others).
Another cool idea would be to add flying boats, which give you the ability to drop lit TNT below you.
Again, as it is, really fun plugin, and really cool how you got it to do that. :)

Thanks, I'll get some smoother movement (main issue is the way the carts follow the cursor by default in Minecraft, not even sure how possible it is to fix this), going to add speed controls, and landing sounds like a good idea too.

Posted Jan 26, 2013Until speed controls are implemented, trick to stop your minecart is to set down a track of unpowered Power Rails, then fly into those and get off.
Or just aim down at the ground when near it, it partially slows it down.

Plus a landing feature: It's kind hard to land at first, trying not to crash. (We don't want our users to be invincible! lol)

Posted Jan 26, 2013Just got the new version, I know how hard it is to learn Java then try and fix every bug the compiler doesn't complain about.
The mod is awesome now, a friend and I are enjoying it. If mods were rated on stars, I'd say 5/5.

Thanks, and are you sure you have arrows enabled in the config? Let me see if I can find the problem with the other config settings..
[Edit] Nevermind, you got the wrong version. I had uploaded a new one last night with fixes to these things, but it says "under review" so I guess bukkit guys need to verify it..

Posted Jan 25, 2013The mod has a neat idea, but can use some work. Even with KillPassenger and DestroyMinecart on false, I die. I have the permission to shoot arrows and it will not allow me to, I am an Op. /reloadcarts does not work.
Other than that, this plugin might have a lot of potential.
