Quote from DSH105:

The forums have now been enabled and can be accessed via the navigation bar. More importantly, I'm interested in your input towards the new pet attacking AI to be implemented in EchoPet v3.

If EchoPet is not loading on your Spigot 1.8 build and your server is outputting "Skipping loading of EchoPet as it does not work with Spigot 1.8 builds!", please try running a later Spigot patch. I can't do anything about older Spigot releases blacklisting the plugin (preventing it from loading).

The future of this plugin is still being determined.

EchoPet is a simple Donator Perk plugin designed to add Pets that follow players around on their adventures throughout Minecraft. All Pets are custom entities spawned and controlled by the plugin.

Great for donator perks!
Pets are greatly customisable, through the extensive Command Base and PetMenu
A Custom AI makes all Pets focused on specific goals, handled closely by the core of the Plugin
All mobs can be Pets, even human entities
All events fired by the plugin are accessible through the EchoPet Developer API
The API also makes it possible to add many new and interesting features to the limit of creativity
Support for MySQL databases

Note: The Developer API is only available in v2.0.6 and after

All information can be found on the official EchoPet Wiki, which can be accessed using the button above

EchoPet comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for EchoPet to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the EchoPet directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.

Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

Could you add an option so then pet's can only go in certain worlds, and if the owner goes into one of those worlds the pet despawns until he goes back into a valid world? Thanks!

@sakura_blades: Go It wasn't at first. But by popular request it became a WIP feature.

So wait, I thought this plugin wasn't supposed to have the pets attack things?

The more I look at this plugin, the more it resembles MyPet except MyPet is super configurable, right down to health and dmg per pet... o.O How exactly is this supposed to be different?

BTW, I found this on a forum post while looking for "mini-pets" to work as Vanity pets for my players. I already use MyPet and would like a little mini-pet just to look nice. :P

    Release Notes: 2.0.9

It's been a month since I announced the addition of the EnderDragon Pet. It's also been a month since 2.0.7 was released. Today, I am happy to announce that the EnderDragon Pet (along with v2.0.9) will be released today. This update fixes a lot of issues and adds a lot of new features. I highly recommend reading the entire change log, as there are some important changes to a few permissions.

    Controls for Riding the EnderDragon

The controls work similarly to any other Pet, except for a few slight differences

    • Unlike most flying Pets, the dragon will stay airborne without touching any controls
    • Looking downwards (towards the ground) will make the dragon fly in that direction (any yaw of above 50 will trigger this)
    • The dragon fly speed is not currently configurable, even though there are such options in the config.yml
    • If you've tested one of the 2.0.8-Snapshot builds, the Dragon didn't collide with the terrain. This has been changed for the release.

@TheMagicPack: Go See my comment here.

@Roelyboely12: Go Config Forces work. I'm not sure why they aren't for you.
