What is CreativeGates?

CreativeGates is a plugin that allows you to create teleportation gates without running a single command. The plugin does not impose design restrictions. Design the gate frame any way you like.

  1. Build a gate frame using any materials. It must however contain two emerald blocks (configurable).
  2. Name a clock with an anvil.
  3. Hit the inside of the frame with the clock
  4. Gates using the same clock name will connect to each other.

Install

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
  3. Put CreativeGates.jar in your plugins folder.
  4. Start your server again.
  5. For advanced users only: Configure the MassiveCore aspects and multiverses using the commands.
  6. Modify /mstore/creativegates_mconf/instance.json to your liking.
  7. Modify /mstore/creativegates_conf@universe/instance.json to your liking.
  8. Configure permissions. CreativeGates only has two nodes.

Portal vs Water

CreativeGates can use either portal blocks or water blocks for portal content. You decide which to use in the "uconf".

For portal blocks to work without bugs you must open your server.properties and set allow-nether=false. This will disable the generation of the vanilla nether map and the vanilla nether portals. This is how we do it on MassiveCraft. You can add one, two or even three custom nether worlds using a world manager plugin later on.

For water blocks to work you don't need to do anything special. If you want the vanilla nether world and portals you probably want to change to water portals in the config. Otherwise players entering nether gates in the nether might exit through creative gates.

I need help. Whenever i click the gate using the clock nothing happen. I made sure there are two emeralds and still nothing happen. When i clicked outside, they give me a message stating that the portal has no frame or it is too big. Anyway how to solve this? The plugin seems like it is working fine but not with the gates.

    Running on 1.7.5

Thank you!!! This is definitely the easiest portal plugin for players to use! We love it on our RPG server!

    [Feature Request] Visual Effects!

One thing we would like to see added is some effects on the player when going through the gate. Particle effects, dizziness, temporary view distance modifiers, lightning strikes, beacon lights, etc. The more the merrier (with options to enable/disable any of the effects, of course). In our RPG server people rapidly whooshing in and out of the gates seem to detract from the immersion. With some effects, more specifically temporary negative effects after porting, we think it would keep people from rapidly porting just for the sake of porting.

    [Feature Request] Port Timer/s

A timer before using the gate again would also be a welcome addition. It could be on a per player basis, or even per gate basis. The timer could also play on the lore aspect of the plugin, requiring the gate to build enough energy before it can port another player. Console messages would be an easy way to display the timers, but something the player could visualize in or around the gate would be even better!

Thanks again for the great plugin, and keep up the excellent work!
