Computers

Computers

Fully programmable computers are available in this plugin. These are extremely extensive, and can be a lot of fun to play with.

Computers feature:

- A Lua interpreter, allowing players to (safely) write their own programs for their computers.

- Redstone and chest integration, allowing for complex sorting and redstone I/O with Lua.

- A graphics API for Lua, allowing custom rendering via Lua code

- A mapping program, allowing players to pan, zoom, and explore maps viewed in a computer

- And even a Minesweeper game, written entirely in Lua!

Check out the wiki for more information.

Image Rendering!

Although not unique to this plugin, it has support to render images by itself (see commands on the wiki). Images are saved and loaded from URLs, and are fit on canvases (without any resizing).[/FONT]

FAQ

"This plugin doesn't work on <version> of the server! Can you add support for my outdated server version?"

This plugin is very difficult to update for older server versions (due significant changes in NMS code), I have done extensive work to help with supporting multiple versions, but servers older than 1.8.3 will not get supported.

"The computers sometimes get stuck and I can't see it updating the screen, how can I fix this?"

If you are running BungeeCord, you need to setup the plugin specifically for BungeeCord servers. Please see the wiki.

If you already configured Bungee forwarding for Consoles, and you're still running into occasional map glitches, try changing the starting-map-index value in the config.yml to a larger value. If you're running multiple servers with Consoles, make sure each server has a starting index at least 5000 apart.

If you are not running BungeeCord, this is a bug, and you should find a way to reproduce it and report it!

Technical note: this is a client-sided bug that the Consoles bukkit and bungee plugins attempts at circumventing. It is very difficult to fix this issue completely on BungeeCord servers.

"This plugin broke all my maps! I hate you!"

This plugin replaces map functionality - so, normal maps will not work with this plugin, alongside any other plugins that use maps. You can, however, use the map program built into the computers.

"How do I write a program that does X in a computer?"

Please, read the wiki. I spent a lot of time documenting most of the Lua functions in a manner that the average player could understand - do not ask questions that are easily answered by reading the wiki.

"I'm having troubles interacting with the computer, it doesn't register at some spots, why?"

This happens when you try to interact at the map borders with nothing in your hand while there is nothing behind your computer (this is an issue with the client not sending interact events). Try placing some blocks behind your computer or interacting with an item in your hand.
