CommandRewriter
CommandRewriter is a small plugin that allows you to assign custom texts to custom commands. That means that you can assign a list of rules to the command /rules for example.
You can use colors and define as many lines as you want. If the Minecraft chat does not contain as many chars as you need, you can directly edit the config.yml in /plugins/CommandRewriter/. Just reload after the editing.
Features:
- Show the player a text if he executes a command
- Subcommand differentiation
- Colors
- Multiple lines
- In-Game configuration
- No complex configuration
Usage:
Assigning a text to a command:
- Use the command /cr set <command> to start the assistent
- The command has to be without the leading /
- The command can have arguments (/help 2 or /rules pvp)
- Now type the text you want to assign
- You can use color definitions like &6
- The symbol "|" marks a new line
Removing a text from a command:
- Type in /cr remove <command>
List all assigned texts:
- Use /cr list
Reload the config:
- Use /cr reload
Help:
- Use /cr help
Subcommands (NEW in v1.2):
You can tell CommandRewriter to listen to a subcommand. For example:
You assigned the first help "page" to /help. Now you want a second "page". Just assign the text to /help 2 (or whatever). If a player types /help 3 (this command has no assignment yet) he will be directed to /help.
Permissions:
CommandRewriter.set - Permission to assign messages to commands
CommandRewriter.remove - Permission to remove the assignment from a command
CommandRewriter.list - Permissions for listing all assigned texts
CommandRewriter.reload - Permissions for reloading the config
When I reload the config, it resets the config file. The same thing happens when I restart my server. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?
how do i add an extra line to it like multiple lines
Hello, everything is fine, but i cant cr a /? but a /bukkit:plugins ./. /ver /versions is working anyone can help about that?
@SaoAZZY
Have a look at MultiCommand. It allows you to put many commands together, maybe that will help you.
Hello homer I am having a few problem that I need your help with I was wondering is there a way to set a command to the command we have made because it's not letting the commands work. for example /cr set tp Then putting the test in I want then it allow you to teleport to a player with that custom text
Still working with 1.8.1
I've just downloaded and tested it out on the most current version (1.8.1) and it works great.
You can even override other /commands if you don't like the ones given by other plugins. Unfortunately you cannot write very long texts, unless you go into the config file afterwards and extend it. But overall a great plugin! I haven't found anything like this, as easy or simple to use.
(Also VERY customisable)

"CommandRewriter is a small plugin that allows you to assign custom texts to custom commands."
Nevermind, I simply didn't space them. I fail.
Also, does this command do what it's name is... rewrite commands? It's great if it doesn't, just wondering becuase if it doesn't I'll have to get another plugin.
Also, if it does may I have a quick tutorial or a link to one on how to do it?
For some reason this plugin has broken, when I changed into the developmental build for bukkit the config cleared (which was a major paint, I had heaps of stuff in it) and now whatever I put just simply doesn't work.
Lol, it says:
New Update for CommandRewriter is avaible! dev.bukkit.org ...... Your Version "1.2.2" New Version: "1.2.1"
@ProxyBomb
CommandRewriter should (just like the name says ;) ) rewrite / redirect commands. I'd like to keep it as simple as possible. CommandRewriter and MultiCommand work well together so just put the MultiCommand.jar in your plugins folder and start doing what you want with your commands ;)
@ProxyBomb
Please open a ticket for this request. It sounds great and I think I'll implement it.
And, can you do it without | ingame? So everytime you press enter you can edit the second line or something like that :)
@clovisdelmotte
Have a look at MultiCommand. That's the plugin you are looking for :)
Could you maybe make this rewrite commands? so when for example, typing in, ./vote, it would actually run /info vote. Acting as a shortcut to that command? Thanks. C
Colour codes don't work for me, they just make words vanish.
good plugin
Try to get some of the features from MCDocs implimented in this, like display different stuff to different ranks, variables (%playername, etc), stuff like that! :)
@0dayRUDE
It is working with 1.4.7. If you get any errors, please open a new ticket.
Please update to 1.4.7 ?
