CivCraft
What is CivCraft?
CivCraft is server-side mod which combines the games Civilization and Minecraft. Rather than controlling an entire civilization, players play as individuals and must band together to form groups. Starting with small camps, players eventually found their own civilizations where they can claim and protect land, research technology, engage in diplomacy and wage wars with other civilizations. The players write their own history.
Features
There is too much information about the mod to cover in a single post, so please check out the wiki at gamepedia for the details.
The offical CivCraft Wiki is located at: http://civcraft.gamepedia.com/
Here is a bird’s eye view of the mod and its capabilities:
- Players start as nomads, scouring the landscape for resources to build their first camps.Camps provide shelter and leadership tokens which players need to found civilizations.
- Once a civilization is founded, players have access to a full land claiming system. Players can set their own permissions on individual plots and form their own groups with group permissions. Players can place plots up for sale and charge taxes on sold land.
- Custom gear system with 150+ new materials to craft. Gear for players is restricted by the technology of the civilization they are in. For example, Bows are not craftable without the Archery technology.
- Customized PvP system with new gear that’s tiered into leather and metal armor. Higher tier gear is much more difficult to obtain and is more like gear you’d get in an MMO. Players can spend time working on their own gear sets to prepare for wars.
- Customized Mobs, More powerful mobs drop more powerful materials which can be used to obtain gear.
- Biomes also provide towns inside civilizations with different attributes, for example mountains produce more hammers while plains produce more growth.
- Towns can build structures, tile improvements, and even world wonders! Some structures like the arrow and cannon towers provide defense against enemies, while others provide perks like enchanting (library) and converting ores into coins (bank).
- Formalized War declaration system where civilizations can declare war on each other. Each town has a town hall or Captiol structure with control blocks. Destroying your enemies’ control blocks captures that town for your civilization. WarTime is scheduled for 2 hour periods once per week so everyone can prepare and play in war.
- Casual and Competitive modes which modify the game rules slightly depending on your playstyle. In Casual mode, war must be agreed upon by both parties, and anybody can build any wonder even if it’s already been built. In competitive mode, war can be declared by anybody at any time, wonders can only be built by one civilization, and victory conditions can be met to win the game.
- Custom Anti-Cheat system which allows server owners to require players install a client-side forge mod to participate in War or Arena.
- Custom dynmap plugin to let players visualize their cultural influence.
- Everything related to the game’s content is configurable via YAML files. Server owners can customize their server to their liking to speed the game up or slow it down as desired.
- Built-in server listing service that will optionally list your CivCraft server on civcraft.net so that people looking to play the mod can find your server.
Is this compatible with Towny?
Or is it possible to make it so in the config?
@pgmann
This is really an entire server plugin. Factions plus civcraft would behave in strange ways as they would both be trying to do the same job (protecting land).
CivCraft would be closer to a replacement for factions rather than a companion.
@netizen539
Out of interest, does this plugin take a whole server? Or does it work with multiworld? e.g. could I have factions and civcraft on the same server?
Hey everyone, this page is still a work in progress. The plugin is very large and complex so you're best bet is to work off of the existing documentation at the wiki: http://civcraft.gamepedia.com/CivCraft_Wiki
Also check out our packaged releases at http://civcraft.net for an easier method of installing the game. Bukkit understandingly will not allow me to package all of the files required.

There should be enough information, images and videos ;)
Does or will it ship with a texture pack? I ask considering you said it adds lots of new materials.
Is the custom anti-cheat system optional?
Is this operational anywhere? Can we test it before getting it?
Please post some screenshots or a video. They're very helpful. Seems like it could be a really good plugin. Thanks! :)
Seeming a very good plugin!
