Introduction

Hello fellow MineCraft Server Owner, have you ever wanted something fun for your players to do? Well i have finally come up with an awesome solution! A ChatBot! So i started looking around and i couldn't find a single plugin for a chatbot that was easy to use. So here i present to you BuildABot designed with the most basic commands and config, anyone can set it up!

Commands & Usage

Stumped? Well heres Some help on the commands:

/buildabot

Tell you to use /bab instead
Must be op or have permission bab.buildabot

/bab

Gives you a menu of all the commands to use.
Must be op or have access to bab.bab

/bab refresh

Reload's the plugin
must be op or have access to bab.bab

How It Works

I am sure a huge number of you are wondering how we set this up it was very hard but here is how the basic format works, the input number and the response number are both linked, when the player makes a input it identifies it if its one of the numbers or not in a matter of milliseconds if it is it matches it up with the correct response number and boom! It responds!

To everyone, but BuildABot Pvt is being worked on so it only displays messages to the player so it doesn't spam up chat.

When you use the bot, are its responses shown only to a player, or does everyone on the server see the responses?

Ok guys, I will make some serious changes to buildabot in the following days. The current version of BuildABot that you are using is the testing version, I will release 3 versions of buildabot, these are the following:

BuildABot Basic
BuildABot Standard
BuildABot Beta This one is currently beta there are just way to many bugs, I will release BuildABot Basic tommorrow and the Standard version will be within a week. And if your wondering if your configuration files will transfer and go through, don't worry you shouldn't have any problems, but just in case, before putting in your config in there, you might wanna keep a backup, I've been hear some problems about entire configurations being erased.

Hey so I have a small problem. Every time I add 10 or more responses or inputs to the code and I save and refresh the server deletes everything inside the file and when it's started up it only shows the default Flint, Which wont do anything but greet people. I'f I have 9 or less commands though it runs completely fine.

If you read (all the way) through my previous post you'll notice that i've already done that (see the bold text in the quote below):

Simply copy a config that is in the zip and substitute it in, also its delay sorry for the confusion.

Hey, nice plugin (t)here!

I have a suggestion for you(r plugin):

An ability to add custom trigger-words that give a random(ly chosen) response (lookup Chester plugin for a reference)

Hopefully you'll consider adding this or add this without hesitation!

edit: I've noticed a couple of things

The config.yml found inside the jar differs from the one that comes with the zip (i.e. delay: 20 in one and response-time: 20 in the other).

It probably doesn't work under (this build of) Spigot (1.7.9-R0.1 #1443) =/

BuildABot 1.8 is being released soon, you can now have 2 bots, and there is a drug phrase. Started working with Word Contain but it is in heavy beta

The snowball is being removed due to its bugs. Also I will check the /refresh command, your not the only one with complaints on it not working I will switch it to the /bab reload command.

/refresh doesnt work for me, I think it is a clash with another plugins commands, maybe use /bab reload or something?

I see what you mean by that, and as far as i know, not yet, but i will work on that there will be some major changes coming in the 1.8 update, i will be adding some major changes such as the previous command phrases and some addition things like adding in commedins also thank you so much for the financial support <3

In order to use the kill phrase you must enter the following items into the config: killme-input: and killme-response: Also once this download receives up to 500 downloads, I will include 2 different special phrases for fun :) one being the snowman phrase, when active everyone on the server will be able to throw snowballs whenever they left or right click, the other being a drug phrase, this one will require the permission bab.drug and will give you drugs :P please give more support by just commenting about how you used it, i love hearing it!
