As of version 2.2 /173generator regenbiomes command is available.

Usage:

2.3-8 and earlier

/173generator regenbiomes [worldname]

[worldname] - replace with name of your world (without "[]"), leave empty to regenerate biomes in world you are in (world needs to be specified when using from console)

2.3-9 and later

/173generator regenbiomes world=[worldname] maxTickMillis=[time]

[worldname] - replace with name of your world (without "[]"), when not specified (no world=worldname argument) it will regenerate biomes in the world you are in (world needs to be specified when using from console) [time] - the higher value the faster biome regeneration will be but it will cause more lag. Default value is 10ms. Anything above 50 will always cause lags.
