Awesome Death Messages
Awesome Death Messages are made to extend - not necessarily replace - the traditional death messages with their own unique style of announcement.
You can download the latest development builds on my Jenkins CI server.
GitHub and Jenkins builds are not checked by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risks.
Features
- Shows what weapon was the player killed by
- Displays a custom name and when there is lore or enchants you can hover over the name to see those details (requires Minecraft 1.7.10 or better; otherwise you can just see the name)
- Optionally disable all the default death messages
- Players' names in the death messages are their display names, meaning if they are colored the color will be displayed (usefull if you have colored names to distinguish teams)
To do
- Count the killer's kill streak
- Figure out a way to display even more awesome death messages
- Make the messages configurable
About
This is actually a really tiny and simple plugin that I use when playing UHC with this awesome plugin. Thanks to mkremins for making this possible - without the Fanciful library there would be no way to send raw json messages so comfortably.

like world of warcraft
For exemple :
- Shift+click item , the item is linking to chat and you can show your gear ???

Posted Oct 30, 2014Great plugin! suggestion though - is it possible to auto mute death messages from the same player say after 2-3 times? I ask this because we use McMMO like many other servers and people love to kill themselves over and over to train certain skills like Acrobatics

like you should make it underline the weapon text indicating that you can hover over it. or put it in Bracket like [Weapon] to show that it hover over able, like how default death message is. it show that you can hover over it

Oh, this is strange. So you can still hover over the name and see the stats and stuff, but it isn't underlined? I'm still not sure I understand entirely :p
But if that is the case, I could probably strip the colors and formatting codes from the item name so that it displays properly.
When the item has a custom name it doesn't say enchanted (so that long names aren't a problem... which they apparently are anyway :p). If it had a default name it would say enchanted. I could probably fix that, though this whole message system is poorly written.
As to what "faces" are... They are not implemented yet (be careful with the development builds they may be broken), but they are what this plugin is really supposed to be about: it will be able to display player's heads (like skin) in the chat when they die. But I still need to implement a lot of it for it to be finished.
Oh and sorry that I wasn't on IRC, I was in school :p

Also make it so that it underline the text if it is a enchanted item. To show you can hover over it.

@thu2468 What message? Like when my message is too long? I'm not sure what you mean.
@thu2468 Yes, when you enable the death message hiding, it hides all the messages. I guess I should probably make an option to hide just the (vanilla) pvp messages, it shouldn't be too hard.
